Default Oem In Dash 6 Disc Changer For Older Outback

Hello

I'm new to the forum. I have a 1997 Outback Wagon with a cassette. I was considering a newer Subaru OEM 6 disc in dash head unit. I see quite a few on ebay. My question is, will any of the units fit? Are there any OEM units that are recommended? How about CDRW playback? Any comments are appreciated.

Thanks

Wanna bump this question since I have a friend in a similar circumstance.

He owns a 1999 Outback and I know that the OEM Double-Din 6-CD Changer will fit 1995-2004 Subaru Imprezas, Foresters, Legacys, and Outbacks.

Any problem with the bezel that surround the HU? Reason I ask is that apparantly, the older Outbacks have two seperate single-Din units on top of each other. I guess one unit is the single CD player and the other is the AM/FM tuner.

TIA

reggieinchicago... welcome to the board. The newer units "should" fit your Outback since it's double-Din. But I don't know much about the Outback and the bezel that surround the HU. The newer OEM HU does play CDRW discs.
