What color should would look good in your opinion? Blue? Green? Black? I don't want to do white because it will be too hard to keep clean.
My vote is for gold metallizer over black dip. Can look either bronze or gold depending on number of coats.

^^ i did the same. just spray everywhere. I also sprayed the inner wheel flat black just so it's easier to clean brake dust.

Mine has been on about 6-8 months and only time it got f'd is when the guys at the tire shop put on the tires.

Picture of plasti dip rubbed off from tires being mounted.

What are you talkin' about? He said "lug holes" not "lug nuts" lol. Please tell me you took your wheel off the car before spraying and didn't just leave it on.

2.5L Monster, did you put down white first? Or did you just put on the green?

I'm surprised how many people I've seen posting about how plasti-dip doesnt last... plenty of people that have used it say the contrary, myself included did a buddy of mine's wheels about 10 months ago and they look just like the day we did them.

As these are my winter wheels, I didn't care how it turned out so I just put on the green with no white. I'm satisfied with how they turned out.

Yo dude I'm not saying they look bad, I like them. I was just curious because I will be using blaze green on my wheels as well. Now that I see how they look on yours, I'm not going to bother with the white. Did you use the pre dip spray?

No pre dip spray. I just washed them and made sure they were dry.

work in progress... aka I ran out of plastidip Thought I had a couple more cans than I did as I forgot about a couple other projects I've done recently.

eta: The first time I sprayed the first wheel I learned there was a leak in the roof on my deck so it ruined it because it caused the plastidip to bubble. When dried I peeled it off to start over and noticed that it took a little bit of the subaru center cap paint with it, has anyone else encountered this issue?

Lookin' great so far! I have not tried peeling any of the plasti-dip off yet so I can't chime in on this subject did you use the white base layer first or no?

No. They're just stock winter wheels so I don't really care about perfection just wanted something different. I didn't use the white on any of my interior so I didn't even think about it.

^ Well if they're your winter wheels, why do you care if a little paint came off? Lol. Did you dip them in the sun or shade?

Oh no no no. I've never had that happen before so more curious if that is to be expected, not worried, like I said my interior is all dipped red and even with peeling didn't take any paint off, so I just had never encountered that happening. I wanted to do something fun with my summer wheels but they are significantly more expensive wheels and i wouldn't want to potentially ruin them of that was the case. Shade, we uh don't really get sun in Seattle this time of year. On the deck, under cover and protected from all elements.

Maybe just cheap paint on the wheels? I'm not 100% sure. Could be a couple different factors. I know what you mean about no sun...I'm from the Monroe/Bothell area figured there might be a slight chance in sun this time of year!

finally got a rainless day to put my wheels on. Some day I'll have a garage to work in I swear. I like it, it's different. Missing my p1s already though. Please excuse the fact that my car is super dirty.

ETA: yes there's a garage in front of my car but it's full of my grandfather's **** that needs gone through.

Some crappy pics in crappy lighting in our shop. Camo green on some 98 rs wheels, winter setup. Better pics to come when it stops raining in four days.

Very well. Usually just hit them with the pressure washer if its snowing, otherwise they get wheel cleaner and a good scrub. Paint holds up very well as long as you have a decent amount of coats, 4+. And then when your ADD kicks in, peal it off and try something else
