Default My swapped flared wagon progress

New wheel pics on post 21.
Here are some updated pics of the progress. Full color swap bonatti grey (except engine bay), side molding removed/ holes welded shut, derailed, molded fender flares, replica oem sti front lip. I'm excited for the finished product to say the least.

Pictars:

What it looked like before it went in.

The work and progress pictures are thanks to Sinister redlines.

Yea the universal 4 door kit. I'm not sure about shipping, but I paid 224.99 shipped. Haven't gotten the dpt's yet, but they're most likely going to be +35. I wish you were closer, to see how the 275's would look like/fit.

Yeah I wish you were close too to see how much more room the flares give.

Trying to think if you could measure from the unibody in the wells to the edge of the flares to see how much more room they make. I pulled the **** out of my rear fenders and it'd be disappointing to get flares and not gain that much. I know some of the guys with the Do-luck style front fenders saying that pulled/rolled fenders could fit just as much.

Wish they had 275/35-17 they'd be a better fit for our cars the overall diameter with the 275/40-17 is pretty large (maybe better if had 6spd gearing?) Car sits pretty high off the ground even with not much fender gap. One of the reasons I'd like flares if I could tuck tire and lower the car more (maybe on widebody would give me that? idk) Fronts would give me way more room though.

And my pullz for reference:

Can't wait to see the finished product. Out of curiosity, did you buy an entire front clip to do your swap?

Yea I kind of feel like I'm going to riding like the Gobstopper, low but with ganga wheel gap. I'll try and see if Chris can take a few measurements for ya. What widebodies have you been looking at?

Yep. Got the rear hatch, bumper and rear diff as well as the whole front clip. Here's a pic in Japan before it got chopped up.

Yea, I can't wait. Yes I know the horror stories about the jics, you posted up in my other thread if you've forgotten. They're getting replaced with koni 8611's and swift springs most likely.

^ That clip is a fantastic way to go. So what was the donor vehicle? EJ20G Ver2 or Ver3 WRX?
If you don't mind me asking, I'm very curious as to what that cost you and what all was included. Dash, interior parts, etc. Additionally I'd like to know who you purchased it through if it is an importer. I am considering a similar route. If you don't want to post it feel free to PM me.

It was a my94 sti, so I'm pretty sure it was a version 2, still haven't changed my profile lol. I paid right around 4k for the whole clip delivered to frantic four. That is pretty expensive for a clip, but this was the cleanest clip I've ever looked at. It came with motor, brakes, tranny, fronst suspension, ecu, wiring harness, rhd dash(that I sold for $500 with the leftover front end), carpet, dentless body pieces(fenders, hood, grille, f/r bumpers with spats), rear hatch, rear diff, us drivers seat (in immaculate condition, which got stolen), and to top it off the jdm road flare lol.

Yea I'm stoked for the 255's. The star's run 10mm wider too. The +42's would've been sunken with the flares.
