So I'm buying a set of wheels off a buddy, tires are trashed so I'm looking to see what the best size tire I can run. The thing is, there is not much clearance with this wheel. I test fit them on my car.

Wheel: 18x8.5 Kosei K3 with a +50 offset
Tires at the moment (garbage): 225/35/r18
Car: 2005 WRX sedan
Suspension: ISC N1 coilovers with barely a finger gap all around
Fender mods: None

The reason I ask what tire size I should use is because the clearance between the tire/wheel and the coilover is so TIGHT. So much that my buddy wore right through his coilover cover/protector. So I am wondering if I need to run say a 3mm spacer just to be safe? The offset is different than most wheels at +50.

Again, looking to see what size tire would fit with these wheels. I don't like how the current tires look with that sidewall. Any help would be appreciated

anyone interested in this excel file? pretty simple, won't give any information about clearing brakes but at least you can see where the tire will end up

Default 2012 Impreza 2.0 noob

Hi guys,

New member here. Purchased my Impreza about a month ago. Now looking for a set of rims to give a more aggressive stance ie. Poke.

I found a nice, decently price set of ADV rims.
17x7.5 (30 offset)

From what I've read these rims will probably cause rubbing with 205's. I'm hopeing to get a solid answer since I haven't been able to find any info regarding these rim dimensions.

Thanks!

this is not the thread for opinions. there is no right and wrong. points will given accordingly. if any "correct fitment" crew members post here, you will receive points for each and every post.

please search and research before posting. i'd like to see educated questions, not "can i run a 17x9 +20 without modifying my fenders and stock suspension?"

please follow this format:
year:
model:
wheel model:
wheel size/offset:
tire brand/model:
tire size:
suspension:
alignment: DON'T BOTHER ASKING ABOUT AN "AGGRESSIVE" SETUP IF YOU'RE GOING TO SAY YOU DON'T WANT TO ADD NEGATIVE CAMBER
fender mods:
spacers: yes/no? size?

please let me know if there's anything else i can do to improve this thread.

thanks in advance for everybody's help assisting other members. if you don't know what's required to fit a certain fitment, please refrain from posting so we don't clutter the thread up. if you think an offset is too low, too bad...don't post because this is the style thread where people do things because they think it looks good.

What's up guys, super new to the car community as I've had a pickup my whole life. I just recently bought a 2017 black wrx and was wanting to get rid of the stock 17's. With that being said I know next to nothing about offset and what I can run and what I can't. Not looking to change my suspension at this time and don't want to deal with rubbing. Just hoping to get your guys's opinion on what set up looks best and what I'm able to fit. Any help is greatly appreciated.

New to wheels so probably a stupid question. Only asking this because I found a steal on a forum and was considering buying if it would fit. How would this fit?

Tire brand/model: Dunlop Direzza ZII Star Specs
Tire size: 255/40/17

I'm told because of the 4/2 pots on the WRX TR, I need at least 3 if not 5 mm spacers in the front and possibly a 3 mm in the rear because of the strut. Can anyone confirm this from experience?

Thanks!

Never been a good idea to run a stagger on an AWD vehicle. You'll tear apart the differentials quicker than you can ask what oil to run (IN THEORY). There are always exceptions and guys that have made it work but in general, not a good idea.

I'm picking my 2017 WRX soon. I saw some OZ Superturismo LM's that I love and think they would look great. The size they come in are 18x8 et45. Is anyone running this setup and will it be okay on this car? Will it push the wheels further from or closer to the fender and by how much (I'm an isiot when it comes to offsets)? Also, I would like to run the stock tires (245/40 18). Any issues?

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't those narrower than stock. I suspect they would fit with no issues, but most people will tell you to go bigger.

There is no best, just a bunch of different styles. Look around and figure out what you want your car to look like and try to match that with what you're trying to do with it. There's also an offset thread right next to this one in the stickies that you can check out once you've picked a size of the wheel you want to run.

That's a very moderate setup. Those will fit with no fender work especially if you get 225s, 235s could also work with no fender work but it seems a lot of people still roll them anyway. Not too sure on that tho since I've never run 235s...

Because of that offset, you'll likely need a roll. Depends on what your model is - I believe the 08-10s were wider than the GD chassis and the widebodys are wider yet so you may be ok. Saving grace will be those tires - those are pretty narrow on 8.5. I run 215/45 on my 17x7 stockers and they're pretty vertical. 215/35 on 8.5 will have some stretch (which could vary depending on tire brand) and 35 is a pretty short ratio for the 215 width. Tough to confirm one way or another about needing a roll but there's a possibility you could get away with it or only need a roll so that the tire clears when you hit a bump. Hope this helps.

Default Fitment issues

Hey all, I'm new to posting here and modding in general, I own a '15 STi and wanted to change my wheels to something that's wider and looks nice, so I went with the Enkei Raijins.

year: 2015
model: WRX STi
wheel model:Enkei Raijin
wheel size/offset: 18x9.5 +35mm
tire brand/model: NA
tire size:NA
suspension: Stock
alignment: NA
fender mods: No
spacers: No

I bought this based on some research, and a SubiSpeed STi wheel listing, but it seems I still managed to get the wrong wheel as I ended up rubbing against the drivers side Brembo (Left hand drive) and the wheel itself while turning the wheels and moving the car a few cm to test the fitment. What should I do in this case? Did I cause major suspension/wheel damage? I have a picture of the scratch on my Brembo wheel if you want to see it.

Many thanks for the suggestions.

Wheels fit no problem at stock height! Only rub in the rear if I really corner hard. I had enough room in the rear to not need the spacer but I felt better with it on there for strut clearance since I could spare the room towards the fender.

Default Work Emotions

Okay, so i'm trying to decide which setup i want. I already know I'm going to get bashed, i just need some input.

year: 2013
model: WRX STi HATCH
wheel model: Work Emotion D9R

SETUP 1
wheel size/offset: 18x9.5 +35mm
tire brand/model: N/A
tire size: 245/40, 255/40, or 265/35
suspension: Coils (Haven't decided brand, maybe some BC ER's)
alignment: NA
fender mods: Roll
spacers: IDK

SETUP 2 (Preferred)
wheel size/offset: 18x10.5 (+30mm or +23mm)
tire brand/model: N/A
tire size: 245/40, 255/40
suspension: Coils (Haven't decided brand, maybe some BC ER's)
alignment: NA
fender mods: Roll/Slight Pull
spacers: IDK

I know the money, parts and amount of work not to mention camber it would take to stuff 18x10.5's on my hatch, but is it possible for a daily. I don't want it slammed, just flush.

Questions:
Will the work emotions in those offsets clear the brembos?
And just any other input, has anyone seen this size wheel on a GR?

Edit:
I'm not opposed to more or a stretch if needed also. Wouldn't like to go much smaller than a 235/40 though...

Hi,new to NASIOC.

Just wondering, after quite some searching, anyone running 17 7.5j et38 wheels on an 05 Subaru sti?

It seems to be quite a strange width and offset with minimal search results.

Mostly seeing this offset in a wider wheel such as 9j.
Would like to know if the above will fit on my sti lowered on eibach pro springs.

Thanks
Guy

read the 2015 fitment thread.

this is not newbie fitment and I would not recommend this setup to anyone that posts in this thread.
