Default Is there any plug an play MPG gauges for 1993 EJ18s?

Greetings all..

Looked and searched the forum and came up empty so heres my question..

Is there any easily installed engine monitoring gauges that show MPG and related information for a 1993 Impreza with a 1.8? I saw several setups for 1996 (OBD II) and later but nothing for my 93. I have the ability to hardwire in something but havent found anything that looks to work.

Any Ideas out there? Thanks for the help!!

The Scangauge is a nice piece but I am not sure if they go back that far. You may want to look into it.

Thanks for the reply..

They only go 1996 and up (OBD II) and after seeing one wanted to find something similar that would work with my 93.

I got a funny feeling that a newer impreza will be the only way..LOL

You could roll your own. USB data loggers are cheap. Connect one channel to VSS1 and another to an injector pulse line. Simple math can then convert that into a very accurate MPG gauge. The Velleman K8047 might be able to do the job.

Yeah that would be a cool item but I would hack my old Palm pilot 1st to monitor the data. Heck its making a great dust collector right now..LOL

Any other ideas out there?? ..Somethig that would work either with my old Palm Pro or a standalone would be awesome!! The velleman is an option but rather cumbersome with my old IBM in the passenger seat reading its data.
