Hey Crash, did you read this?
http://community.adn.com/?q=adn/node...#disqus_thread

Perhaps after your court date you should post up your video as well to the news agencies? HAhahaha

It does disgust me that the Police "will investigate", yet wont release the officers name nor their findings. While anyone of us would be handed some sort of citation for erratic driving.

What is funny is the obvious APD posters and blind supporters trying to justify officer asshattery.

Yeah, noticed that as well. Just because he is a cop does not make him above the law he enforces. I wonder if I receive a ticket from an officer for the same type of thing, could I use this example as a precedent?

WGMG: Ebay seller that doesnt ship to AK. Filled out the shipping calculator and got my quote, reread sellers add x3 times and did not say they dont ship to AK. ARGHH!! i guess if the S&H fee seems too good to be true, then in probably is.

If your still out on your drive you can see this dude for yourself. He's been outside burning cardboard boxes and **** in his fire pit since about 5. He's also got a swing set pulled out and he's about 2 feet from the garage. These are the same people who put all of their snow in the street and pile it 2 feet high. Last summer I was taking the trash out and their kids had cut a hole in the screen and they were shooting waterguns out of it. If I wanted neighbors like this I'd move to Penland trailer park. Ughhh so over base housing!

I'm getting tired of base housing. It's okay but I want to start paying for the house I want to keep for a while. That's just crazy to have neighbors like your jess. I've haven't had to deal with them, the ones my wife dealt with moved out about a month before I got home because of a divorce.

WGMG:

Went to get cereal at Carrs like I usually do and got pulled over for "speeding" in an empty parking lot.

But what he REALLY wanted to do was give me a tint ticket. Let's ignore the fact that this car in front of us looked like this:

Surround SUVs, trucks and vans passing by were much darker, while the window he measured of mine looks like this:

He turned his lights on AFTER I parked. He claimed the speed limit was 5MPH... Does APD have any jurisdiction over the speed limit of a privately owned parking lot? And if there's no posted speed limit, isn't it like 25MPH?

Clarification on this would be nice. It's a $310 ticket that I'm not going to pay. Let them take it out of my PFD. It would cost me that much to remove it and retint the windows.

Getting pulled over for speeding, but receiving a tint ticket instead is what grinds my gears.

Standard parking lots like at convenient stores and what not are all 5mph, 10 if posted otherwise. It's one of the things you're supposed to know when you get your license. Driving school teaches this a bit more... they pretty much will explain if you're ever on such and such road this is the base speed limit you assume to go by if you don't see a marker.

Yes I know what you're thinking --> if that's the case then 80%+ of people should get pulled over in parking lots. However, obviously that's not the case and it's just more of which officer you pissed off and in reality just how fast you may have been going.

Pretty sure where you were at Carrs they have jurisdiction, unless the owner otherwise says hey yea he can speed here or whatever. Though because a public location, don't think you'll win that battle.

I will agree as mentioned before.. if you have the time to contest it without losing too much money doing so, then do it. Sometimes can cut a break or get it cleared because of lack of evidence, no show, good will, etc

Thanks, Medio. I guess you are "supposed to know," but I know it's different in other states and it's been over 10 years since I've taken any driver's test. I'm more of a creature of habit. I go there ALL the time, so this morning was nothing special, but now I'm supposed to accept that all those other times were exceptions.

Oh well. I'll try to contest it. Thanks.

Yea, like I said it's one of those wrong place at the wrong time kind of situations. Wherever you go it's your responsibility to know and abide by current state laws. Leniency is given to a lot of military members in the cases of say tint as a good example.(Go figure a state with 20+ hours of sun during the summer each day is against tint) and obviously other exceptions when traveling come into play sometimes as well.

Though speed limits definitely don't apply, otherwise everyone coming back from Germany will be like: "Ya! Freeways = Autobahns!"

If you can't get it removed push for a drop in cost.. discuss bills being tight .. blah, blah blah.

I will admit that I did a little "drift" since the snow is fresh and the parking lot was EMPTY, but that's not what I got a ticket for, which is WGMG. I'm always prepared to pay the consequences for my actions, but saying, "Do you know why I pulled you over? You were speeding," and then giving me a $300 tint ticket while being surrounded by several other vehicles with DARKER tint is what truly grinds my gears.

And there are no hot moms at Carrs that early in the morning on a weekday. I've checked. hahaha

No, I'm sick of being blinded by bro trucks and people with crappy HIDs. I didn't get tint because it's sexy, otherwise I would've gone darker. I have night-blindness pretty bad and just got sick of it. I got about as light, yet functional tint as one could get. You can see into the back seat for crying out loud!

It's just because it was dark out. I just hate the profiling. My Forester was darker and I NEVER got harassed about it. My co-workers tints are darker, but they're trucks, so it's fine.
