TGFPFG! (Thank God For Plastic Fog Lights!)

I'm sorry to hear that. The ones on the Impreza get cracked super easy. The ones in my BRZ have taken quite the beating and look fine once cleaned.

USAA will pay for it minus the deductible. If you have them of course.

I'm giving up on my fog lights for the summer, just ordered new covers without the fog light holes. Much cheaper than new housings.

^^ Yeah, that's a stupid argument. Give me the same "new winter tires" on the subaru, as on the front wheel drive car, and guaranteed the subaru is getting around better in the ice snowy conditions.

I can attest that AWD with good snow tires is preferred when seeking ultimate handling prowess in inclimate weather conditions...

^ You guys missed the point and made up a new one that the author was not arguing.

...The article is absolutely right. From a safety and control standpoint a proper set of snow tires is everything. AWD will only allow you to accelerate faster, assuming it also has said snow tires.

From what I got out of it was people trying to say that all season tires awd compared to a fwd studs was better is what my understanding argument is.

It also compares an AWD vehicle with all-seasons to a Camry with "four new snow tires".

What?

Legitimately confusing grammatical errors and lack of punctuation grind my gears.

And in this situation the Camry would blow the AWD vehicle out of the water, that's the point. AWD is no replacement for appropriate tires.

It's dumb to compare things that are unrelated. Why not put the cars on slicks then. I'll say it again, that's a stupid argument.

I think he makes a legitimate point that AWD gives many(mostly non-car enthusiast) people a false sense of confidence in adverse weather, and that there is a serious lack of general education in the way of tire importance.

Pointless article is pointless for pointing out obvious disadvantages and flawed comparisons, though it could be argued that the article isn't for Alaskan enthusiasts in-the-know, but, rather, for those that know no better.

So what Davin said.
