Parking brake being frozen after I packed it with snow driving around all yesterday in the blizzard. Love the smell of fried clutch/brakes in the morning

Drove around my neighborhood at a 45 degree angle until it broke loose, haven't had that issue since my Isuzu trooper years ago.

Speaking of blizzard, at the car wash now blasting all the ice out of my rims, hate that high speed wobble enough to make me want to invest in a closed design set, or more open spoke pattern/mag-style set.

My brakes are getting pretty bad. I'm not losing them, just bad vibration when I use them. A warped rotor I'm sure. I've got parts and pieces on order to remedy the situation. It doesn't help that I need to replace the tie rods too.

Welcome to Alaska. Now go wash your car and add up how many new rock chips/dents you get every year I love/hate carwashes.

Go to the troopers and report the truck as stolen.

My guess is they never registered it and likely there is no insurance either.

Did you turn in the Transfer of Ownership slip off of the title? That would be your proof you do not own it and also who has it now - assuming the same person you sold it to has it. How about a Bill of Sale?

Like I said, they obviously never put it in their name. Go down to the troopers office at the dmv and explain your situation, they will probably offer you some paperwork to report it stolen. Then if it's ever pulled over they're supposed to impound it and call you.

Cops have said that was an option. Today i found out it was sold to a dealer and then sold to a 3rd owner from there.

All four of my wheel well inserts are completely smoked, my oem skidplate (plastic splash guard, lol) and front spoiler are completely rallied and hanging on by a thread. Is this what I have to look forward to replacing every winter?

I got a light bar which does a decent job protecting the front lip of the spoiler, but nothing for the underside. I've been looking into an aluminum skid plate and diff guard from primitive, rally armour and/or rally innovations.

What about aluminum wheel well inserts, anyone done DIY?

I don't want to baby my car, that's not why I bought it, I plan to keep hammering through snow with it and am happy spend the money and effort to keep it up, just wondering what I can do to replace the Fisher-price OEM undercarriage "protection"

So far I've found decent upgrades for the skid plate, nothing really for wheel wells or the front spoiler. The"one timer" plastic plugs used to fasten the dust caps on the spoiler are a joke, I'll probably just seal them up with right stuff and access the fog lights from above.

I know this is a rant, but at least it's in the right section haha.

Sounds like you should lift it and get some real skidplates. Remove front lip in winter and not sure about the wheel wells.

I'm going through the same thing, just replaced both front fender liners. I'm kind of regretting getting this car instead of something older for what I want to do with it. Let me know what you come up with.

The 2011+ WRX/STI front bumper is a joke. It's flimsy and fragile and the liner is minimally accommodating. I blame the lack of R&D put into the bumper's integrity. My BRZ's is sturdier, surprisingly to me.

I need some real skid plates... or any skid plate for that matter. I like the primitive ones, just don't want to fork over the money for shipping. I just need it so it acts like a sled under there. I can drive down my driveway and see my drag marks from my plug-in and jacking plate.

Ask Primitive how much to ship them to 98108 and if the ship address has to be the same as billing. I can most likely have them shipped up with my company's stock order. Just don't have a quick time frame and you should be good.

That would be cool. I'll look into that soon. I would like to get one on here before something pops up and says hi to my oil pan.
