Question Burrning rubber smell (definitaly not the tires)

<FONT size="4">Text</FONT s>
Hi all,
I've been having this problem lately AND consistantly were after running my car for only a few minutes i get this burning rubber smell.
It seems to be getting worse and the dealer "can't reproduce the problem"
I was thinking something aginst the exhaust but haven't been able to find anything.
Then i noticed there is an increasing amount of "brown" residue on enging parts near the main belt.
I rember reading a post about the MY00 belt tensioner being a problem, but considering i own a MY99, i donno what gives.
ANY help would be great, i simply don't have the time to get to the dealership now (i just moved to VT)
Thanks,
Peas,

AaRoN

If you have an alternator problem, the belt can slip on the alternator pulley causing a rubber burning smell.
