Try taking out some ignition advance - about as much timing as the ECU is pulling. If the problem goes away, then the problem was your tune. And I think that's what you'll find.

But if removing timing makes no difference, then it's probably noise, or possibly a failing knock sensor. I don't think that's the case though.

It pulls 4 degrees in places....

Remove timing from the RPM/Load areas where the knock happened, and smooth the timing tables around where you make the changes.

Are you going to be doing this, or will your tuner be doing it?

this is still a reoccurring issue. we tried pulling 4* of timing out made no difference. could a boost leak cause this? maybe a tired tubo blowing hot hair in? anyone have suggestions???

It also has knock with the cobb stage 2 map as well as the stage 1 map. hope this helps someone!

Who is your tuner? You can try putting some racegas in to see if it still knocks. You should also do a compression test. If you've been knocking this long you'll want to know if you've done any damage to the engine.

ya that would be a bummer because the motor only has 20k on it. if it knocks at all the computer pulls timing and keeps it from knocking anymore. consequence obviously a huge reduce in power.
