Yeah, probably. Our cars run rich stock. Try a used oil analysis. The fuel is really killing your oil.
Blackstone Labs , although their fuel report is less accurate than Dyson . And an oil that Terry Dyson recently had an oil company "brew" just for fuel dilution in an Audi RS4 is Renewable Lubricants Bio-Synthetic Super High Performance SAE 5W40 HD . Lots of info and debate about it on bobistheoilguy.com. Whatever oil you use, make sure that it can withstand fuel dilution without completely thinning out and that you change it regularly. Lube Control LC20 is also good for fuel dilution. -Dennis Last edited by bluesubie; 10-03-2007 at 12:44 PM. |

thats why on a new motor during break in you should change your oil every 400 or 500 miles, b/c running rich will lead to fuel and oil mixture...not a big problem and make sure to change your oil right before your tune too

gas in oil
I'm surprised your not telling us you blew the muffler off your car if it's burning that much gassy oil. Your motor won't live long on diluted oil.

Run an oil analysis - most oil with a bunch of miles smells like it has "fuel" in it when most times it really doesn't - repeatedly cooked oil has far different smell than fresh oil. An analysis is the only way to be sure - it'll cost you $20. Just do it.
Condensation and rich-idle start. Totally normal. |

If the PCV system is blocked up you can get oil contamination from blowby over time, more so on a motor with forged pistons and loose tolerances that's running rich.
