I think it has 183k miles and is, as such, greatly overpriced.

Perfect candidate for a full STi swap. Just grab a totaled 08 STi to go with it!

I noticed it shifting kind of hard (1-2 shift?) several months ago. It wasn't absolutely terrible but it did make me question it. He said that's how it has always shifted. A few months later he got a CEL and upon reading a P0780 code for 'shift error', I told him it was because he was granny-shifting and not double clutching like he should've been. We then checked the trans fluid level and it was below the low mark.

So I don't know if the hard shifting was due to low fluid or vice versa or unrelated.

Jason, this B7XA Honda auto transmission fails due to bad design. Period. There was even a class action lawsuit as a result! Honda admits the parts suck and would only charge people labor to fix it. Though maybe this was only during the warranty period? So getting another used transmission from the junkyard is a terrible idea. Who knows how long it will last.

Acura TL uses that trans as well. So.... I found this cherry n/a 99 A6 Avant....somebody stop me LOL !

Well, if you show up a month late, someone will be pissed, and it won't be the best man.

True that. Transmissions, wheel bearings, head gaskets and so on. Subarus do not make good beaters. I wanted an early 2000's forester big time until I dug into them.

When we have cars at our Honda dealer like that we just replace the trans.( not recommended by our technical asst to replace solenoids)
Came across this link. Sounds like the diff bearings wear and the metal particles cause all kinds of other problems.

if your goal is to get un fat ass, i suggest leaving the mountain bike at home and doing the same things your buddies are doing on mountain bikes, on foot. you'll shape up real fast. or die.

Paul, I saw you going home yesterday in your work truck on 28 right at the Highland Park Bridge.

I mountain bike, but I'm not xxxxtreme really. I'm probably faster up hills than I am down because I'm a wuss.

I try to ride a once or twice a week. Usually make my way around Riverview Park. Good workout on the inclines.

Speaking of getting un-fat, I was running yesterday and at Adam's suggestion, did the entire 3 miles on the balls of my feet rather than heel-toeing. My shins feel alot less sore, because running with that form forces you to not slam down on the pavement. So

Thanks Adam

^ LOL. I would've thought this would be common sense? Softer springs transmit less force to the chassis, no?

If both feet are ever off the ground at the same time, you are running. If at least one is touching the ground at all times, you are walking.

How you set your feet down is more of a technique thing.
