The lens actually has a slight bend to it. When it's not on my garage you get a wider field of view, it's not too bad for what it is. Plenty usable.

Here's my home made clutch stop... Less than $10 hardware store parts, done in 20 min.

That's pretty cool. Is there already a hole there or did you drill one? And is it a noticeable difference?

It makes the clutch only depress to the disengagement point, not past it. Apparently it makes your shifts a little quicker and more precise.

There's already a small hole there where the small plastic tab is now... Remove the tab, and enlarge the hole to a size that makes sense for the diameter of the foot peg you buy. I had to drill mine out to .375"

The quality of driving while in traffic is drastically improved, as there's no more guess work, and no wasted efforts. As with most springs under negative load, the more you push in the clutch, the harder it gets. Furthermore, I can now double-clutch without even thinking about it... Great for traffic lights

Where's the actual engagement point? I'm confused on how you determined that.

Or you can just get used to where it actually engages, and only push your foot till that point.

Awesome I'm gonna do this tomorrow. I found another version on a Beamer forum where he used an "elevator bolt". I'm thinking about adding a couple of nuts to make it adjustable

It seems to jump around sometimes for me. And that would be hard to do when on the track or something

You just think it jumps around, fact of the matter is you're not paying attention to where it engages. And different slopes make it feel like it's engaging at different points.

And around a track, your muscle memory comes into play real fast.

This is my old 04 that I had before I switched to a CTS-V for a while.

back then car-puters and tablets weren't very common but I found out this Tomtom 910 was linux based, came with hard wire connections and a mic for bluetooth calls, and had 13 GB's of extra space on the hard drive for mp3s. I decided this was a match made in heaven for my clock spot:

A whole shot of the interior - thats v7 spec c seats, stearing wheel, etc. I don't remember the make of the gauges.

Close up shot of the mount.

Bluetooth mic. Didn't end up using it much because you had to change the volume of the sound system way up for some reason. Eventually I found a setting in the files on the tomtom that wasn't accessible from the touch screen - one had to ssh into it - but it added an automatic 10 pts of volume to blue tooth calls and that fixed that

And the whole system was removeable!

I hope to begin working on my 2012 STI as much as possible.. I'm thinking about molding my moto Xoom into the dash. I know tablets are old hat these days, but I'm sure I can come up with some unique way of doing it.

No trust me, it jumps around. Not much but it does. It has something to do with the clutch delay valve. I live in Louisiana, there are no slopes lol. And actually I pay a lot of attention to where it engages which is why I know it jumps around. Like you said, my muscle memory comes into play so I let out where it usually engages but sometimes it moves and I get jerky shifts

Trial & error!!! MAKE SURE YOU TEST THE SETTINGS WITH THE CAR OFF FIRST!!! You should be able to dry shift in and out of all gears (including reverse) before you set the height.

Shift point DOES vary, but only VERY slightly. Make sure to accommodate for this when adjusting the height of the stop.

It can vary enough on the 2011s to significantly affect stop and go driving in traffic...I have many miles of personal experience and it is extremely annoying.

But then I just wail from 1st through 2nd when there's a break and it makes me feel better.

This. Usually it varies the most on cold starts and doesn't get better until the car warms up or I find the new engagement point

You guys will have to try it to figure out what height works best, OR if this works at all on a stock clutch.

I have an Exedy Hyper Twin, and this small mod makes a WORLD of difference when I'm putting around. At high RPM under load (IE spirited or track driving) this mod makes NO difference to me. Since my ride isn't a trailer queen, and I have to drive to my events, this was a must.

Exedy Hyper Twin clutches on these cars are nothing but bragging rights that you spent a lot of money on a clutch. Functionally, there is no real point.

P.S. Wrong thread.

Um, I'm pretty sure I make more power than you. That "85k" you see in my signature is not my mileage.

Bickering is not a unique mod. Post more skid plates that turn into wings that have cup holders!
