Default Need Help!!! oil consumption

i have a 2002 wrx with 125000 miles. i seem to need to put a quart of oil in it about every 250 miles. i have no signs of leaks anywhere and took off my heat shield to find a small amount of oil residue on the inside. even so it is defiantly not enough to be going through a quart per 250 miles. please help. i have no clue where to begin.

first thing to check is pull the intercooler and see if theres any oil residue inside, there should be a slight film seeing as the td04l turbo is a journal bearing turbo.

if theres oil in the tmi continue to pull the downpipe to verify if your turbo is blown

if not perform a leakdown test on each cylinder, remove the oil cap and if you can feel air coming out of it you most likely have a ringland issue or piston rings could be letting oil into the cylinder

either way if you have a good turbo youre going to need to pull the motor for further diag
