Well for the record. I'm dropping several grand on a full car paintjob.
Then I will proceed to dip the entire car to protect the fresh paint.

That cheap enough for you?

Plus. There's plenty of pros to using this stuff. Its temporary. Its not crap like regular rattle cans, though it can be bought in that form.

But anywho, carry on :P
I'm gonna go poop and eat dinner

plastidip actually protects paint, and if it starts to look bad you can just peel it off, its really not even close to the same thing

See? This guy understands what I'm saying. I like having the option to protect the paint and have a temporary color change for your car.

Anywho. Think this is a reasonable question to ask in this thread:

Does anyone know if plastidip provides any kind of sound deadening? I have some leftover and I just finished installing my doluck trunk the other day and was thinking of lining the interior portion of the trunk lid with this stuff, but only if it has any benefit.

I keep x2 12" subs in the trunk for daily driving.

Thanks for anyone who gives any feedback on this

I'm sure it would deaden sound to some extent but probably not much unless you really used tons of it

lol

It's rude to laugh but it is kind of funny. He/She is the one who didn't lay anything down underneath the car. On a positive not, I guess they could take everything out of their garage and do the whole floor. I mean why not, 1/4 of it is already done.

We Plasti Dipped my brother's wheels in my garage and got it all over the floor. It just wore off on it's own within a couple months.

Both would look good in my opinion, i think it depends on the current color. If your car was black id say white, if white id say use blue. If it was my car i would use a non matching color to your paint job.

I like pdiped cars. Its reversible and relatively cheap and looks good for a matte finish.

For the entire cars being dip'd, usuallly most ppl use the kit that comes with the electric wagner sprayer and paint cans/thinner included. Though I've seen someone use rattle cans, don't know why :O

For the smaller things, most ppl use the rattle cans. Usually doesn't leave runs/drip marks in the paint itself unless you just blast it all over like crazy. Its very easy to do.

I've used this stuff to make eyelids for my friends car, because he is the definition of a cheapskate and diidnt want to spent the $15 for the premade fiberglass ones that come primered lol

How are folks doing the emblems/badges? I imagine its a PITA to tape them off, but so is taking them off and trying to get them back on.

Huh. That makes it look really easy . . . . might be worth it before attempting to debadge.

Thanks.

There's a DIY thread on here. You separate the two halves of the emblem, remove the paint, then paint with a new color. (the unpainted emblem is actually clear.)
