Yep, been using it for over a year. I'm kind of iffy about the results. It uses an accelerometer to determine instantaneous G-Force, then compares it to an internal clock to calculate times. My take on this, however, is that it will incorrectly include the body roll of the car as simiulated longitudinal G-forces, thereby "thinking" your car is going faster than it really is. Basically, my theory is that the stiffer your suspension is (the least body roll), the more accurate the times will be.
Unfortunately, it's impossible to maintain the device perfectly level while accelerating, and therefore you will never get extremely accurate results. But it is MOST useful for testing out modifications. Run it a few times before and after to see if a modification is actually doing you any good. |

yes!!!! it's good. It recorded my best 0-60 in 6.82 and the worst in 7.21 with only me in the car.
With someone else in the car (175 lbs extra) i did 0-60 in 7.29 best, 7.47 worst. It is pretty accurate they said (within +/-.1 sec of actual time). Oooo marciiiiiinn...are you still testing with it? lol tony. |

Yeah, several people use them, but they aren't terribly accurate. There are other methods that offer better accuracy and more information, but of course they also cost more money. There is one device, I called a Road Dyno, which gives really good output for about the same price as a G-Tech Pro. It's home-built from off-the shelf parts, though, so it doesn't look quite as professional.

ive used it on a caddy on a 300zx tt a ninja zx-11 wow and scooby. it claims very close to perfect times anyway how close does the average tuner really need to be ? only if you have money on it . overall its a great tool slash toy. much better than the butt meter .

Its much more accurate than the godbilt butt-dyno The biggest thing to realize about it is that is isn't super accurate. Its giving you better results than you could get guessing, but thats about all that can be said for it

I've been working with the Road Dyno system, which is about the same price. I choose it over a g-tech becuase it actually gives a dyno graph of both torque and rpm. It works very well, and gives comparable results to a real dyno.
Check out my site for more info... Dave www.i-awd.com I don't mean to take anything away from the G-tech...I've heard it works well and I was planning to get it. It will not however take into account differences in air preasure, temp and humidity, all of which can affect how a car performs, and I really like the torque and HP curves that the Road Dyno gives you. That road dyno looks like a pain in the ass to install though. The G-Tech just sticks to the windshield (visor works better).

Pop the hood, slip the clamp over a spark plug wire, route the wire out from under the hood into a passenger window and plug in. Takes 30 seconds at most...
