Default HELP! P1088 - Locating Tumble generator valve #1

2002 WRX Sedan

P1088 Tumble generator valve #1 (RH) position sensor circuit low input

I pulled the code and I am trying to locate the sensor. I have the following pictures. Am I looking at the right sensor or is it somewhere to the left of these pictures? From what I understand I should be looking for E55.

Pictures of wiring diagrams and shots of the car

The TGVs are in between the intake runners and the block... wouldn't the sensors be right there?

To the left. The passenger side front. You probably won't be able to fix this. I had this code at 16k miles and the complete TGV assembly was replaced under warranty.

Was any work just done on the car?
Injectors or turbo swap?

Uppipe and downpipe one week ago. I checked what I thought was the sensor tonight to make sure it was tight. Started the car up again and it didn't come back on after thirty minutes of driving. I will monitor it though.

If your TGVs are all goofed up, now's a good time to swap them out for JDM TGV housings (and runners if you want them to be red).

The connector may have been bumped and just needed a wiggle.

Default i am having this cel p1088 problem also

I am also having this same problem. I am getting a p1088 code. My problem is that it seems like all the connectors are tight and click.

What causes this problem and what are the effects of it?
I read on one post that maybe some spring needed to be retightened. I'm sorry but i am at a loss.

I have added new injectors and perrin fuel rails.

Any tips on what to check would greatly help....

Thanks

I had this same problem when I took the sensor out. when u replace it you have to put in and spin it 90 degrees because its spring activated.

but what do you do if you know you haven't taken out the actual sensor. All i did was disconnect the plug.

I am still getting the code, also what effects does this have on the motor and what should i look for?

wrxdriven- unplug your battery for a bit and drain power to the car. This is the cheapest way to reset the ecu. If the TGV is working and now plugged in it should not throw that code again.

I had the same problem and found that I had unplugged it accidentally while reinstalling the intercooler. Unfortunately, the clip was slightly damaged so the only thing holding mine in now is friction. If you reset the ECU it shouldn't come back on, if it does it may be damaged.
