i have the VF30 stage 2.5 and i see full boost between 3200-3500K. i can't really get a full look at my boost gauge and rpm's because from that point the car just takes off. but i feel it pull hard like a mofo at around there. i'm pretty sure positive boost pressure starts around 2700-3000K or so. i'm peaking at about 17.5psi max. that's pretty good considering that the 2.5 map retains the stock intercooler and fuel pump. imagine what will happen once it's tuned for upgraded intercooler and pump. WOW!

guys, "positive boost response" @ 2700 means nothing if you don't say what gear. it also depends on how you're driving- did you redline 2nd and then go to 3rd with turbo spooled up already? or did you start up in 3rd gear @ around 1200 rpm and go from there? that'd be for evaluating your claims based on observations in 3rd gear

okay, mine is in 3rd gear. in fact, 3rd gear is when she pulls the hardest all the way to redline. as i said though, i'm not too sure, i could be less because i can't watch the boost gauge and watch the road at the same time the car is pulling like a freight train.

3rd gear and... ok, so try this- shift from 2nd to 3rd @ ~ 2200 rpm- so the engine is bogged down in 3rd. then tell me what your boost response numbers are

eeek mine hits full boost at around 4000 rpms. meybe its because of my header and large tmic. i dont know. im working on a custom restrictor for my turbo that should help me hit target boost easier and sooner.

I'm having low boost issues, so I cannot give you an accurate target boost reading. However, I can tell you that I am seeing postive boost as early as 1600rpm in gears 3-5. My vf34 is PnP.

the headers delay boost apparently, but i don't know if a TMIC does. a custom tune should be able to fix that problem.

i'm running cobb 2.5 and i get full boost a bit under 4000 rpm in 3rd- that's when i start in 3rd gear with the engine bogged, on flat land

when speaking of "positive boost pressure" i mean that throttle is open and the engine is sucking in air via the turbo. so in essence pre-spool starts from about 2200-2500K then i start to see positive manifold pressure at about 2700K and full boost at about 3200-3500K in first gear. sorry if i left anything out. i'll try a 3rd gear pull, but i'm pretty sure it's gonna be about the same. we'll see.

blackie: it could be closer to 4000K, not too sure because the needle hits so fast and my eyes are peeled on the road after that, it's too quick to tell, but it's around that vicinity.

yes, when the engine is now sucking in more air.
