Default what mods should I do and not do

I bought my 13 wrx about 4 months ago and am ready to start upgrading it. I have on order a mishimoto cai, invidia cateless downpipe, invidia N1 duel exhaust, and cobb AP V3 tuner. I am currently deployed so these mods along with others I order will not be going on until I get home. Im wanting togo E85 so I know I need injectors and a fuel pump which im thinking
-EV14 Fuel Injectors Top Feed 1000cc
-DeatschWerks DW65c Series Fuel Pump

after that im figuring around $1500 or so left on my budget so I was thinking the grimmespeed upipe (ill blockoff the EWG hole), a bov, and front mount intercooler.

SO my questions... Should I also get a EBC to go along with this?(I know ill have togo over my budget) If I get the EBC do I need a EWG or will it still be worth it without the EWG? Also I see alot of threads about you dont need a front mount intercooler and a top is fine but will a top mount be good down the road when im wanting to try and add more power? ( I really dont want to have to get a front mount later on if I paid money for a top mount) I just really want to do the most I can before I get a protune done because after this I plan on spending time on handling brakes and what not. will appreciate any input

Word on the street is these cars boost creep very easily with a downpipe (especially catless) combined with an intake. Add on to that one of the freest flowing catbacks and you might be setting yourself up for an issue. Just an FYI, this is the reason I haven't upgraded my downpipe on my 13 also with an intake and N1 dual. If you have the extra cash and are set with the mods, plan for an EWG methinks.

You do not need a CAI unless you plan on making north of 400hp

Don't need a front mount for e85, or an ewg, or an intake. Save the money and time and put it towards the other stuff you need.

All you really need are injectors, fuel pump and tune for pump gas and e85. You will need a way to switch between the two tunes. An accessport could take care of that.

Ive had good luck with injectors dynamics 1000cc and walbro 255 fuel pump.

A downpipe and a boost controller would be very beneficial aswell.

Good luck! You could get the downpipe and ap first. Then just run the stage 2 map it comes with in the meantime until you have everything you need.

I have the exact same setup. Kinda wish I had left the intake out. I went with the process west verticooler and id1000. I'm getting tuned in a week for both 93 and e85. Oh and my tuner recommended I buy the grimmspeed EBCS.

Tony14wrx would love to see a update after you get it tuned. And did he give you a specific reason for the grimmspeed ebcs? Just curious

My tuner recommend me to buy it. I went catless and told me this would maximize my setup. I trusted him.
Also what section would I post a update in?

Don't need the EBCS with a custom tune, tune takes care of it. I would recommend the Grimmspeed boost solenoid though.

Here, read this.

Also, since you are already getting the accessport, read the map notes for the map you wish to run, and follow said notes to a tee. If you will be going the protune route, consult that tuner with your questions, as they are the only source that can really give you the answers you need.

Good luck!

Hey man, what goals are you trying to reach?

I wouldn't go FMIC, a TMIC will do just fine.

The EWG setup will give you small gains but you might enjoy the loud sound when you WOT.

I would recommend getting the fuel pump and injectors so you can run E85. That will make a big improvement in power.

As long as you aren't asking questions that have been covered in the stickies you should be okay. PPL get mad at users that want to be spoon-fed info.

+1 on contacting a tuner. And you are lucky to have a wife that buys car parts for you

And TIRES
For the love of god get tires. Ditch the Dunlops that come stock.
And check out the Grimmspeed/Perrin Verticooler. (Top mount, but rotated about 18-20 degrees)

Btw: You said you are deployed... Thank you for your service.

Welcome! As for the CAI, as stated it is not needed. But as long as you are tuned for it you will be fine with it. People are making it out to be worse than it is haha. Good luck!

CAI is fine if you don't mind the sounds and the tune (off-shelf ones are out there, Cobb) for it...but really isn't needed until some serious HP. Folks have been dropping EWG to address boost creep--it is awesome sounding to some and abhorrent to others. Bear in mind it can be plumbed back into the exhaust and that glorious sound will go away. EWG will solve boost creep once-and-for-all.

All above requires a pro-tune and some $$$. NASIOC "for sale" can reduce the coin spent.

Youtube some videos of an EWGs if that piques your interest.

to my understanding, the aem intake is one of the few intakes that fit fmic piping.

as far as the gs ebcs, if that is what your tuner recommends, its cause he is comfortable with it, get it.

Hey man I have a 14 sti built over at cobb surgeline in Portland, OR. I was going to do the exact same mods as you but after talking with Lance their lead tuner I went with the EWG because of boost creep issues. He said either do EWG or stock intake considering the amount of cars he has tuned I took his word for it. Just some food for thought. I did have to upgrade to new injectors though with the new exhaust and pro tune. After this deployment I think I'm going to switch to E85 for some more power.

I'm going to adopt you as the NASICO n00b of the month. Here goes:

1. Who is your tuner?
2. What are your REALISTIC plans for your car: Autocross, drag race, street race, just want to throw some parts at it to be cool, just want to hit 350WHP....all examples of goals.
3. Have you actually ordered anything yet? As in paid and stuff is on the way?

I'll personally help you if you want, with my fee being $0.
