I think the only place to get parts around here is Ferrari of Denver. One of his employees claims he can handle it, and the guy doesn't expect it back any time soon.

I'm a part of FSAE at my college and the brakes were leaking on one of our old cars at the master cylinder and the brake line and at the master cylinder and the reservoir. Another kid proceeds to wrap the treads with Teflon tape multiple times making thickly. I told him thats not how you use it but to no avail. He also thought that we didn't need to bleed the front brakes (we use 2 master cylinders, 1 for front and 1 for rear). We took the car out and drove it the next day. The first guy that drove it said the brakes were "soft". Thankfully they didn't fail and it was a 5 year old car so not too big of a deal I guess.

Heard this today while dropping my car off at a shop. The owner was leaving a voicemail for a customer:
"......and you have a wheel stud missing on your right front wheel....." They either didn't know, or didn't think it was a problem, because the car was in for a completely different reason. Last edited by ManualOverAuto; 10-02-2012 at 09:24 AM. |

...but the person didn't know or didn't care, because the car was in for other reasons. I just thought it was funny, being the first thing I heard when I walked in, so I immediately thought of this thread. |

customer came in awhile ago with a 95 f150 saying his front wheel locked up, so we pull the tire off and the hub.... someone f****d up the spindle and bearings looked by trying to jam a prybar in there to release the auto locking hubs. will post pics in a lil bit.
Also got into a fist fight with another customer for failing him on his inspection, he said his car was perfectly fine and I told him well its not fine for nys and he squared up and I pushed him away out of my face and we threw some punches before the police came. People can be stupid sometimes. |

Had a customer come in complaining the trunk on his corvette convertible wouldn't close all the way. Opened the trunk and had about 800 pounds of audio stuff in it. Started looking at the area around the trunk. The rear trunk area is literally breaking off the car. Stress fractures everywhere. Pulled all the stuff out and the trunk shuts fine. Now He's wanting to sue the audio store for selling and installing all that stuff in his trunk. Plus we are working on an estimate for repairs its at $5000.

How big of a stereo do you need in a corvette??? There is only 20 cubic ft of interior space anyways. I know it takes a lot of noise to drown out all the rattles, but not that much.
