Default "Official" Post your suspension setup and settings thread.

I just wanted to start this thread because I am curious as to what everyone uses for settings, and I'm sure it'll be a help to people deciding what to buy or what settings to use. So, please post your suspension mods, any damping settings, alignment settings, and some comments for what you do for performance driving, etc and how/why you like the settings. Thanks!

My setup:
Cusco Front 22mm Swaybar
Cusco Front Strut Tower Bar
Cusco Rear Adjustable Swaybar (24mm)
Cusco Rear Strut Tower Bar
Cusco Rear V-Brace Bar
Cusco V2 underbrace
Eibach ERS 600lb Springs (0800.250.0600)
JIC FLT-A2 Coilovers
STi Aluminum Control Arms
STi Lateral Links
STi Trailing Arms
Performance Alignment
Poltec Heavy Duty Adjustable Endlinks
Whiteline RACE ALK
Whiteline Rear Camber bolts
Whiteline Rear Subframe Bushings
Whiteline Rear Subframe Lock kit

Wheels: 17x8.5 White Advan RG w/ 255/40R17 Kumho Victoracers, 18x7.5 White Konig Rated R w/ 235/40R18

Settings:
Rear Sway on Full Stiff
Street Damping: 2 clicks from soft front, 5 clicks from soft rear.
Still experimenting with race damping settings
Camber: -2.0 F, -1.0 R
Toe: 0 all around

Basically, I occasionally street drive this, but I mostly autocross it, drag it for fun, and i want to get to more HPDE's this year as well. I have yet to try out some of the new settings for this year

Please post it up

Default Nothing has changed for me...

SPT wagon struts/springs
STi lateral/trailing/swaybar links
Gp. N control arm bushings
Cusco Type II front lower brace
Gp. N. strut tops
SPT wagon swaybar

I like this setup because it can outhandle most things on the road, but it's still very comfortable for a daily driver. It can be (and has been) rallycrossed, track dayed and autocrossed. It can fly over speed bumps at 40 mph, and also drive the wife to work.

But it's firm (not stiff...big difference) and tight. And the control arm bushings and lower brace make a significant difference in steering feel and quality.

i have to totally agree with you about the steering feel and what mods help that the best. Also, unfortunatly i know exactly what you mean by stiff, hehe.

FAKE STI strut tower bars front and rear
Tein H-Tech Springs
Stock Struts

Like the setup. Nice looking drop with almost better than stock ride. Waiting to do struts until stocks are blown. ALK did nice job w/ front end push under acceleration. Adj swaybars were best mod so far as far as handling response goes. Would go with a different tire next time around but nice all around traction, especially in wet.

Alignment setting are just about stock right now and I solo. Maybe next year I will think about a performance alignment once I get the new struts in

I probably can find some pics of the J-speed bars - they're impossible to see once installed. I can take a couple pics of the car with the rollbar when I get home.

Edit - best I could find for the J speed bar was the pic in this thread.

seems like many people like the pink struts and pink springs combo....how do these compare to a coilover setup?

(i have coilovers, but i want to further information for the benefit of other members )

Solo2 STX-legal setup:

24mm front bar (adj)
22mm rear bar (adj)

JIC FLT-A2 8k front/10k rear (~450# front/~560# rear)
(up from soft) 8 clicks front, 13 clicks rear
(no preload on any corner, no helper springs)
Helix aluminum endlinks (metal bearings)

(FYI: JICs include metal top plates with pillowball mounts in the rear and metal adjustable camber plates with pillowball mounts in the front)

13.5" ride height from middle of hub to fender lip at all four corners with the car in race trim. (Do not try this unless you have coilovers!)

This setup is great for a WRX on the autox course. For track days, a little much I'd wager. I set the camber plates so that I have notably less camber driving around town in order to keep the back end in check. In race trim (i.e. no junk in trunk, no gas, camber plates all the way in up front,) it rotates VERY easily and with ham-fisted inputs one could easily get themselves in a lot of trouble on the street.

I was happy with it until I started getting better at autocross. Now I want something adjustable. I rode shotgun for an autocross run in my friend's Celica yesterday - Tein SS coilovers. My ass could instantly feel how neutrally his car handled as opposed to my setup where I felt like I was fighting it a lot. That's not an advertisement for Teins, just a note that a properly set up adjustable suspension is a beautiful thing. The STi bits are fine, but not for my application.

I will be sporting some FLT-A2's next year..

Relevant, but specific to autocross, thread: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=610069

IMHO for anything other than hardcore track or autox folks the STi bits are fine but if you think you'll get The Bug, buy something adjustable..

I love this setup. It's very comfortable for the street, but it handles incredibly well. I had Swift Spec R springs, but they were too low for the streets in my area. The STi springs are perfect, they handle well and raised my car back up. Overall, my car is a blast to drive!
