That's thinking out of the box. Good job! 3000gtvr4 would be a good car if it didn't weigh so much.

Subaru owners of America...if you don't understand what is going on in this project just don't post. It is obvious that Mitsu engines are out of your league.
MAP- My boys rolled to the shootout (I'm TDY in Texas right now so I missed it) and they brought back news of this car. Pretty sweet and I hope to hear about good things from it in the future. -T |

Cool build up. Just a shame to see a RX-7 wasted on drag racing.

It *is* technically a 4G63.
It is a 2.4L version of the 4G63 found in the 1990-1992.5 Eclipses, Talons, and Lasers. It has a 6mm taller deck and some other differences. Externally it is almost identical. The 4G63 head bolts right on. I agree on it being sad that it is a full drag car, as the FD's do so well on road courses, but with the goals of the project, it should be fun. It is extremely light, extremely good looking, and it has a large engine bay to fit all the fun stuff in to. We should be throwing it up on the dyno tonight to find out what kind of power it can make on "low" boost. |

Originally we were going to do a S375 (75mm compressor wheel, pretty comparable to a GT4202R or "Big GT42R") and then it was going to be a 76, and then we decided on a 78mm compressor wheel, and then at the last minute we decided an 80mm wouldn't be a bad idea!
We'll see how it spools when we get it on the dyno. We have direct port to spool it out of the hole. |

I absolutely love FD's. If it weren't for NY winters I'd get one in a heartbeat.
They're great Track cars, but also very competent in Drag and one of the best cars for Drifting. And the looks are to die for. It's a classic all around. Please post up vids of the car in action when you get a chance! RX-7 launches are just fun to watch, when done correctly. |
