ALK Install 3G WRX: 1Ton Arbor press sufficient?
Hi All
I was wondering if anyone has used something like a 1 Ton arbor press to press out the old bushings in the LCA, and also to push IN an Anti-Lift kit? This is in an 09 WRX. Thanks!

NO, I used a 12-ton press like this:
http://www.harborfreight.com/12-ton-...ess-33497.html and it was not pleasant. A 20-ton would make it easier. Plus the socket to press out the old one was huge and spendy, can't remember the exact size. |

no, you will need something around 10ton -30 depending on how stubborn it is

Thanks a lot, guys!
That press costs less than the quote I've been given for installation. I'm pretty confident I could do the job, I just need to fashion some support and press-out pieces to use in the press... |

FYI for the OP, I own the special service tools to press out the LCA bushings. Those and a 20-ton press makes it a 10-min job to press out the bushings in both arms. We could probably work something out if you want to use them. |
