Lets continue......

After new engine project accomplished, I did dyno tune by myself. 300whp & 280wtq, not bad number from tiny little VF37 twinscroll turbo, though! But this is not what I actually want because the more power you squeeze from small turbo, the less powerband you could possible get. The truth proves everything, my torque curve is like a peak shape, up from 4,000rpm then right down to the bottom.

At the same time, I did whole car respray and custom made 4 forged rims which imitate Work CR KAI in pearly white in local wheel factory. And other bits come into scooby aswell, like Bride seat, Nardi rollcage, STI matts and sort of things.

There is it, which what it looks like in the early days back to 2007. Of course I looked young aswell. At that time I did some lil mods to my scooby as usual.

Bone stock EJ205 engine
Rays limited edition 77W rims 18*7.5J et48
Brembos all around
STI TMIC
JDM version 7 dial
Tein Monoflex Coilover with F8kg R6kg
Razo gearnob
And other bits

Car looks alright and I quite enjoy the days with her!

Time goes, after half year enjoying, my suspension is fxxked due to bad road condition in my living area. I try to overhaul the suspension and get it repaired but cost too much. Then I decide to sell them to someone who could fix them with deep pocket. The Tein Monoflex is very hot at that time so its sold within one day, haha!

After couples of no-car days, finally I receive the used JDM MY03 suspension with pink strut and grey spring, and moreover they come with Group-N top mount. Meanwhile, JDM MY05 red background-self-check-8000rpm-redline-180kmph dial comes at the same time aswell. Then I get them fitted straight way and do proper polish for whole body!

Look at the wheel gap, too high!

Yeah, by the way, I bought my own flat at that time but my park slot is under 2 trees. Rather than mop the car everyday, I suddenly decide to buy a car cover to keep it clean.

In 2008 while Olympic Game started to roll, but my 5MT gearbox is gone, I broke 3rd gear due to miss shift. So I bought MY02 JDM 6 speed close gear ratio transmision (Non-DCCD Version) with R180 rear diff and other bits and did 6MT conversion to my scooby! The project went very smooth.

Meanwhile, I get my Cusco oil catch tank installed

Finally I get there, 6MT project DONE!

Where were we? Oh, time moves on.

In 2009, bad thing happened to my scooby, spun bearing gone during the road tuning by myself. That sound horrible, I towed the car to the local dealership and did engine rebuild and sold the new engine to one of my best friend right after.

After that, I started to hunt a JDM EJ207 Spec-C engine in Japan. You know, Jap's internal is extremely strong with some stock forged parts in it and stock 10,000rpm balanced crankshaft which really catch me mince pie. Luckily, the seller was very kind and did all import document for me. Eventually, without any hustle, new JDM EJ207 T20C701 engine came to my door after 2 weeks with 17,000 approved kilometre on it.

This is what it look like when I open the wooden box

After two days work, engine is in and starts up very nice and smooth. I did a quick tune to the ECU then go for a quick wash. I floor it on the way to car wash. Let say, JDM EJ207 ftw, so much smooth with "fxxk-sake-how-much-rev-can-you-go" power band.

Engine looks mean and Im glad to see her re-born!!! The day I memorize!

awesome build thread just have a couple of questions for you. What are the wheel and tire specs on the white wheels you posted originally with the lip. Also is the MY02 non dccd 6mt just as strong as the newer dccd ones? Also is MY02 6mt considered version 7? Car looks great keep up the good work!

Sorry to get you replied this late.

Wheel: Rota SVN-R 18*10J et30, dual drilled, come with flat black
Tyre: Dunlop Z1 Star Spec 255/35/18
Tranmission: Been told from local garage and research, JDM MY02 non-DCCD version 6MT is the strongest gearbox Subaru ever used in production car, the mid diff is stronger than DCCD version, but all I get is I cant actully feel stronger than other 6MT, lol, my bad! The rear diff is almost identical from JDM MY02-MY06 but totally different from MY08-MY10. . And from the traditional name in my area, we call MY01-02 as version 7, MY03-MY05 as version 8 (early model and late model, apparently), then MY06-MY07 as version 9 and etc.

Just had a good lunch with my colleagues, haha

Tuning is done! then during the next few weeks, I did some fine tune like close-loop fueling and maf scaling. My scooby is running good power with good petrel economy.

Is it end of my whole scooby project? Narrrr, I dont believe myself saying that bollocks. But what should I do next? Forget about that, Im using my scooby as DD for over 6 months.

As usual, Im surfing Nasioc everyday and quite enjoy to read other people's build and member's gallery. There is something starting to grow on my mind. Widebody sounds alright to me, some aero bits are good too.

p.s. to be honest, I was thinking widebody long long time ago but I was working on power unit at that time, so widebody project is never counted to my whole plan. It only exsits in my dream.

Is it the unique oppurtunity for me this time? What should I prepare for that? Right, back to normal, Im doing research again which what Im good at. Another 3 three, no, 5 months, hundreds of photoshopings, thousands of advance search on Nasioc and google in the mid night. Finally, I made up my mind, Widebody officially coming into my new project.

APR is good and wide but its too round (no offence, different personal preference), L'aunsport is brilliant but its too expensive which I cant afford. So I choose my desire rational. I want something looks Fat, Muscle, juicy and mean. Kakumei looks perfectly to meet what I need. And also Kakumei is Cheap and Made in Taiwan which is as a part of my country (one day!)

Meanwhile, I ordered Ichiba racing spacers to fit widebody. But things getting dodge. The seller on Ebay US tricks me as the spacer is for MY05 STI 114.3PCD 12*1.25. But when I recieved them, its not as same as description. It is actually for EVO coming with 12*1.5. That sucks and bad feedback straight to the seller. FxxK that!

I went to local dealership with the spacers and got the all bolts replaced by Subaru genuine parts.

Kakumei Widebody kit coming on time, good one!
