"ain't nutt'n but a gangsta party??"
I am going with next Thursday the 27th at BWW in Pleasant Hills. Seems like that works best for most of us. Not going to cancel this time even if there are only two us going.
I can't make it to the QSL meet July 3rd because I will be in Wisconsin that whole week. As for July there may not be a South Hills meet because the PVGP is the 20th weekend. So with the QSL meet on the 3rd, the waterfront PVGP show on the 16th and the normal PVGP on the 20th and 21st I think we will have enough meets/shows for the month. I will plan an August meet when we are closer to that time.

Tuesday's work best for me. I won't ever be able to make a Thursday. Actually on the 27th, I'm taking off of my usual Thurs to do the "TrackCross" at PittRace. Basically run like an autoX but out on turns 1-8 of the North Track!

Yes, I will also be at the "TrackCross" next Thursday.

Also, I signed up for the Subaru PVGP thingy. See yinz there.

Yeah sorry. I was already counting you as a vote for Tuesday because you told me that. This time there were just more people that could make Thursday. I will try to make the next meet in August on a Tuesday. Shoot me a PM with your cell so i can text you the next time also. I meant to get it off of you at the last QSL meet and forgot.

Is this your first PVGP with Subaru? It's a good time. Also, the PVGP has a show the Tuesday before that at the Waterfront in Homestead if you are interested. It's just a $5 donation when you drive in. I was talking to some others about that show and how there aren't many Subarus there usually. The ones that are there are almost always scattered throughout. Maybe this year we can get a group of us together before and drive in.

What is the date for the Waterfront event related to PVGP? If the date works out I would have serious interest in attending.

So, what is more important in car handling and dynamics, making the car as light as you can not caring whether you throw the car out of balance or getting the car as light as you can while considering balance?

Yeah I figured since I was going to be there all weekend anyway and now that I "know" a few of you guys...why not? As for the Waterfront car show, I might come out but it wouldn't be high on my priority list. It would probably depend on my wife and kiddo wanting to come.

from a purely dynamic standpoint:

lower PMI>lighter>static balance

taking a light vehicle with good polar moment, and adding centralized mass is going to make it worse everywhere. adding the same mass with a decentralized distribution to get a better static weight distribution on the wheels is going to make it worse everywhere and slower to react. but probably more consistent in feel in transitions from L to R and F to R.

naturally there's a cost component to this, and if there's enough money there are rules. so it's always compromise. everywhere.

i would go with

driver feel>lower PMI>lighter>static balance

becasue we're not racing and it's all about feeling good.

sweeeeet! it's all so i can go rwd with the EJ for a month or two but still have the 5x114.3 so i can fix the body once instead of twice, so i can fit the wheels i've been stashing. and then just dump the v8 in at some point after that.

i think this also means we need to do an AWD vs RWD drivetrain losses comparo!

Looks like we are taking cousin kennys wrx this year to the PVGP since mine still isnt running.

Last year we met up before driving downtown at the sheets on Route 51 by Century 3 across from Bowser.

I vote all the south hills people going down meet there again. I know there have been some people meeting at the Buffalo Wild Wings so that could be a good alternate. What time is a good time to meet for everyone? Lets get this started.

I'm in! I would rather stick with Sheetz since its right on 51 which means less chances of someone messing our line up. And I can get ice there for the beer cooler right before we go . I think we have met there around 7am the past couple years and that seems to work out well. I'm sure there will be at least two other cars besides me that will meet up also. Think we had 6 or 7 cars last year.

Also, the BWW meet is this Thursday 6:30ish start. Just a heads up if you haven't driven over there lately. The roads all around from Toys R Us to the Aldi end and the hill from Home Depot up towards Sams Club are all exposed tar. Apparently they did a ****ty job of chipping it last time. I have driven thru a couple times and none of it got onto the car but this week is going to be extra hot so when you come out take your time driving unless you want some free undercoating!

Cool. Yeah that tar was all over the place the day they did it. I was prety mad i had to drive on it. I dont think the stone truck showed up or someting. Either way, I hate tar and chip. I dont know why west mifflin thinks its good. Its not like the roads are dirt or something.

Hmmmm...I probably won't drive the whole way down 51 to drive back up. I might try to jump in somewhere on 51, probably around the intersection with 88.

No need to make a special stop for me or anything. I'll just try to catch the group when they go by and hop on the back of the line. I assume the route is straight 51 to the North Side. Is that correct?

Anyone got a clean non-wrx bugeye wagon they want to sell within 50m of PGH?

I reached out to this guy but I'm guessing it's gone. Maybe someone on this board.

$6k sounds a bit high for an 10 year old R-title car.

So... roof racks, these things are intimidating. not really sure where to start.

Have the 2011 forester with the factory side rails, want to be able to transport extra cargo with a box, and also perhaps bikes and maybe even skis during the winter (all at separate times, obviously) I would say cargo box is highest priority, followed by bikes and then skis at a low priority because, well, they fit inside the car.

I get confused with what works with what and what's universal and I'm not sure what's required and what's not, I don't really want to spend $1k on a roof rack, but it seems like everything is really expensive. Any guidance?

Can I just buy factory crossbars and get a cargo box and it will work, or does factory crossbars only work with factory components?
