That sounds about right for stage 2 even without a dump sheet there more than enough evidence to show that it should be anywhere 10+/- of that. And to help you out where you should go from here if you want another power upgrade get a methanol kit their worth their weight in gold and is easily one if the smartest and most substantial upgrades you can do to your car!!! But I'd say work on some suspension to help balance the car better!!!!! Either way have fun with your car!

no where close, go log it up hill and take a reading then try it down hill. its way off, i got it to read 355 hp on my stage 2 stock engine forrester with a td04. If you want a real reading of power over stock you should have gotten a base dyno before mods and then run the same dyno after mods to see the gains.

You are not suppose to do it on a hill. Flat road as possible. Says that right on romraiders website.

I did a standing start pull to 70 once and Dynolicious rated my FSXT at 455hp. I think it's a little off.

Any idea if DBA slotted rotors and Hawk HPS pads will give off sparks under braking? I know some of the more metallic race pads will but not sure about HPS.
Had a guy flag me down at a stop light just now saying he saw sparks in my front wheel, like a little sparkler going off in there. I haven't heard any weird sounds and looked everything over and didn't find anything that would cause sparks. Brake pads have plenty of life so no metal on metal. Only thing I can think of is the pads just doing it normally, or under heavier braking. The light was on a 55 mph road and I was expecting the light to change so held my speed a little closer than I would have if I was planning to stop(ie, slightly heavier braking than usual). |

This thread is really for tuning related questions. To answer quickly I would say it sounds like something is dragging or you may have debris like rocks or other items caught in the dust shields or around the pads. I really doubt HPS pads would do that but its possible. My suggestion would be to take everything apart up front and clean and lubricate where applicable, check for stuck parts.

If you are making those numbers then I would be happy with that on a stock setup motor.
For a good upgrade we recommend to most of our customers a water/meth injection system to help deal with the poor fuel we have here. With a meth/water setup even running less boost we can actually get more power and torque safer. Many of our customers see about 300whp on our Mustang Dyno with a car like yours and your mods.. Sorry if this question is quite common but I couldnt find any answers.
Currently I am all stock but in the next few weeks I'll be getting a full exhaust, intake and possibly a bov/dv. Is it bad for me to run this all on a stock motor without a tune? Will be on a 03 wrx 4eat. Thanks! |

Yes it will be bad. Your maf will be off and your rear o2 sensor will be off if there wont be any cats. You will most likely run your system lean.
Goes kinda like this.... Part then tune Part then tune Etc Etc Etc!!! In the end its your car and good luck. Im not a tuner so ya dont gotta believe me! |

On an 02/03 you'll be fine with exhaust and an intake. Theyre much more flexible than the 04+
You'll get a slightly noticeable difference in power, throttle response and spool but would gain much more with a tune. You don't need a bov or upgraded bpv. Spend the money elsewhere, for example towards a tune. A custom tune would be about $200 at our shop. Your car will like you more if you tune it. You probably should also look into a 3 port grimmspeed (or whatever) EBCS. The stock boost control solenoids on the older cars are usually pretty shot by now.

Could a tune cause a misfire on a cylinder? I have been having a misfire on the #1. Changed plug's, injectors, coil pack, o2 sensor and cleaned the maf sensor. Compression test 135 across all cyl. Tuned for E85. Thanks

searched the crap out of this fourm as well as google. bought my gf a 2010 2.5 impreza last year, and it seems i drive it more than she does. seems that ive converted myself lol. anyways, im sick and tired of staring at the stupid plastic hubcabs on my car. im thinking of purchasing some rims from a dealer. they came off a 2009 impreza. they look like this, http://www.finishlinewheels.com/prodimg/ALY68762U.jpg
i honestly like the simplistic look of them. nothing flashy. they're 17 x 7, someone told me there might be some disadvantages of going with a bigger rim. can someone confirm that? -im about as car savvy as your dead grandmother. |

What year, make, model? Its possible that a tune can cause some issues but its unlikely that it would be on the same cyl every time. Can you describe the conditions that cause the miss? (idle, part throttle, WOT) .

2007 impreza wrx. It has upgraded turbo and injectors and pump and IC and intake. All work done prior to this issue. It ran fine with all this on so nothing I added caused this. I also had the block rebuilt due to ringland failure. 15k on the motor at this point.
It is under all loads, slight throttle, idle, full throttle. The funny thing is it only does it when the car is warm. If I start it up after sitting for a bit (hours), then it runs good. But once it is up to operating temp..... then it runs with a miss. |

Not sure what disadvantages there would be except more expensive tires. Those wheels will work just fine. A 17x7 was an option for the Impreza in '09. There may be a difference in offset from your steelies to those but not a whole lot. Check out www.cars101.com |

So, I am a beginner to the world of tuning cars. I currently have an '04 baja turbo manual and I am looking for a map to put on my car because i can't make my own obviously. My buddy has a tuner and we are looking to increase my horsepower a little bit. Everything is stock except for a short throw shifter. Any suggestions for a beginner!?

You should invest in a used unmarried cobb access port then hit up a tuner after. Cobb has off the shelf maps specific for your car so make sure its for a baja if you buy used new is $500ish used is 150 lessish. But its a grest upgrade
