Steve,
keep up the work ! after seeing all of the RUST.....I know that it's going to be a "challenging effort" to get her like you want and not be turned upside down.......financially. But keep in mind that once you start restoring one.....you NEVER get what you put into them....so do it for the love of the hobby. Best of luck ! and yep....I am still looking.....you can't be alone..... LOL !

If it was me I would change the hubs to a Toyota or Nissan and forget trying to match the oem hub pattern. Noone would ever know or care. Also Panaasport can probably make the correct bolt pattern, but for the cost just replace the hubs and call it a day. Can find old toyotas/ nissans in the junkyard to pull them off.

found and read the whole thread tonight..great progress..keep it up. Had the same thoughts as Dibble, how much effort would it take to swap hubs so you can fit other more common bolt pattern wheels and open up some other options?

Day 11:
Been a little while since my last update, expect less frequent updates during the winter... Anyway, I got the wiring harness completely removed from the car now. I also removed the radiators and the support, and started working on prep to remove the engine/transmission. I also picked up a couple parts I plan on using for the engine and have some comparison photos here for you... One item I got was the 32/36 Weber Carburetor i've mentioned, and also an intake manifold from an EA63 which fits the same as the current intake manifold but with more flow (both air AND coolant flow) and is capable of running the Weber carburetor due to the bolt pattern. Enough talk, here are the photos: |
