Question What is correct: MAF or MAS?

MAF (sensor) stands for Mass AirFlow Sensor, so people simplified it and call it MAS as a Mass Airflow Sensor. Correct?

What is that sensor called OFFICIALLY?

Well I don't know officially either way but I do call them MAP and MAF sensors. I don't usually leave the sensors part off because if you're talking to someone non-car-technical and you say there is a problem with your MAS, they just kinda look at you funny until you clarify by calling it a sensor.

Wink

Most people in discussing these items probably refer to them as "MAF sensors" or "MAS sensors" since the "sensor" part is already included in the MAS acronym, wouldn't it be gramatically correct to call it the MAF sensor?

Cheers,
Markus, the analy retentive!

BTW 8!! I checked Webster's today, its still "tomorrow"
