I have a 1993 Turbo Wagon and the coolant expansion tank went out, I found one at the dealer for $200 (ordered it). But apparently some of the hoses are no longer available. Where are you finding parts from? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

well everyone it's been a while since I posted and a lot has been going on. I went to Indy for the 500 and worked at KV racing and we finished eigth in the race with Sheckter and while I was gone my bumpers were going to be painted and I was looking forward to getting back and fitting the bumpers.......I got back to my car and it was completely stripped. Luke and my Dad decided that it would be best to paint the whole car because of matching the pearl white. Now the project has changed again, I have a new roof panel and we are going to remove the sunroof which leaks like crazy and I plan on fitting the legacy group A rally roof vents. also we are going to fit the wrc engine to this car in the future. I think because it has been given so much attention it is a worthy car for it. I am not sure what this car will end up like as plans keep changing but it will look great with the new paint job.
I plan to post some good pictures of it again, man I can't believe we only drove it for just over three weeks and it's completely stripped out again, you guys won't believe how it looks right now, it's all about the finished project I guess!

Today I dropped the Legacy off to have the roof panel fitted to remove the sunroof and then fit the groupA roof vents. I have decided to use another person to do this job, Unfortunately the person that I had planned to do this job just did not do work to the level I wanted so now it is with Bruce Terry at specialty metal fabrication, he has repaired Ferraris Lista Jaguars, Mercedes etc and he will do work to the level I hope for. Unfortunately as you will see the Subaru does not look too good at the moment as it was already worked on by the other guy and it's in primer. It has been a difficult descision as I know he was trying to help me out but has painted two cars lately and had lots of problems so after Bruce gets finished with the roof I will need to eventually find someone to paint the car for me.please keep checking in for updates this project is far from completion!

Please take a look at Bruces work at www. Specialtymetalfabrication.com
It's well worth looking at some of his work... Very talented!

Here's the Legacy in Bruces new workshop

Well everyone here's what the engine that was supposed to be a wrc engine turned out to be. It was sent to the U.S direct from the guys at sti it is an EJ20g with hand ported heads and forged piston that have letters ART under the wrist pins.
Basically the same parts found on the RSRA engine but without the gold cam covers! I have just looked at an old tread regarding RSRA engine and it definately has same internals the only difference being my engine has all new internals. Forged pistons and rods won't be reused though. There was obviously a failure with the engine and these parts had been put back in. Amazingly one of the pistons was in backwards

9 hous spent porting the second set of heads today and I still have some changes to make to the factory ported ones. I will be Deshrouding the valves in the combustion chamber on both heads and also changing the factory porting around the valve seats. I think there will be 30 hours or more into these heads.

You may be able to see how I have changed the shape of the seat/port compared to the factory porting job. Next on the list will be three angle cut on the seats. We do all our valve jobs the old fashion way by hand with Kwik Way cutters!

Ok everyone the Possum Bourne roof vents are in and the roof panel is filled in so there is no sunroof anymore.

What do you guys think? I like the way it looks, also reminds me of the old group A Legacys.

I have nearly finished stripping the car out to a bare shell at which stage it will be painted pearl white inside and out including underneath and then the long rebuild will begin

There is a good picture of the Possum Bourne roof vent also that will be fitted

I cleaned all the brake and fuel lines for the Legacy, most of the parts were covered in underseal and with a lot of turtlewax bug and tar remover I removed all the dirt and seal and everything is in exceptional condition. I also stripped out the doors tonight, I have to go through every piece going back into this car, I want it to be like new.

You can see the fuel filler breather hoses, they cleaned up really well and it only took about an hour to get them to look like this.....wished there was an easier way

This thread makes me miss my 92 (it was white as well).

Great job so far, can't wait to see the finished results.

Where did you get this gauge cluster? I have a 92 SS "laying around" that has some things I can part with, if you're having trouble finding something shoot me a PM and I'll let you know if I have it or not.

The gauge cluster is stock, I had the decals made for it. Are you parting out your Legacy?

I had the rear crossmember at our shop today that I am planning on using on the Legacy, we measured it and it looks like it will bolt into the Legacy, it is actually built for a GD.. Impreza. It will be on display at the SEMA trade show. I will hopefully be getting a front crossmember from them also. The company is Kaminari, we had just finished working on the owners Lotus Cortina so I was fortunate to be able to take photos today when he picked the car up so here are a few

If you are interested message me and I can put you in contact with him

Here is the front crossmember, I really hope this will fit also does anyone know if GD impreza front crossmembers bolt in also? We checked and measured the rear and it is the same, it would be awsome to fit both into my Legacy
