Looks great Junior. I myself have been kicking around the Idea of pinning the mains. As you know it is a bit trickier on a flat motor.
I am curious how you did it. Did you sweep each main bolt hole and go a known distance down and drill the hole for the pin; and then sweep the other half and lay the same pattern? I would assume you also line bored it afterwards to make sure.

What are your plans turbo/boost/HP wise?

Now that is intense...

Hey Junior2JZ can you shed some light on the idea behind pinned sleeves, pinned Mains
and Oil mods?

I have my block over at Darton right now and am thinking you should sell this service to them... lol

40-50psi with a 4202 billet. I don't have an HP goal, I would be fine in the 800-900 range.

Should have just sent me the block down at TurboTrix in NJ
Pinned sleeves are to help keep them from shifting/moving/distorting when the boost goes high. Oil mods are simple, deburring of passages, opening up a few choice areas and smoothing out some rough transitions.
Pinned mains are to keep the block halves together and happy under big HP use.

I plan of running the mile events, so I intend full on holding out the high gears running 50psi.

That would be cool, but honestly a fun street/strip car is all I am building. I would be happy running low 9s with it and getting over 200 in the mile.

As he said, it helps keep the block from twistng and the mains become distorted in that regards. It does not help keep the halves from pulling apart but helps keep them from twisting.
It thus keep the main bearings happy and helps keep the rod bearing oiling consistent.

P.S. lots of builders do this, not just turbotrix

P.P.S. you sleeving jobs looks a little loose or the block was warm when they cut it by the corners where the sleeves meet. Might just be the picture though.

Yea that is what I meant.. lol It keeps the block halves from twisting.
I know a few engine builders do this.. but I don't think many have done a Subaru.. Its probably just the pics, they are nice and tight

Amazing build Junior, I'm interested in seeing how this works out. I've been batting around the idea of doing something like this or a closed deck block with sleeves, I'm just not sure which one is better. If anyone can clue me in I'd appreciate it.
