Thumbs up Congrats to Automobile Mag's Car of the Year - The WRX

Hey All,

I'm sure someone has already posted a thread concerning this but, just in case no one has already, I'd like to congratulate the 2002 Subaru WRX for being selected as Automobile Magazine's Car of the Year. It's obvious that those guys know a great car when the see one.

Please note that I don't have a WRX. I have a '95 Impreza 2.2 L and a '90 supercharged 5.0, but a day doesn't go by that I don't dream of a WRX. It is, by far, the best overall car for the money. Sure $25K would pay for faster cars like the 260hp Mustang GT or the 305hp Z28 (oh wait, they don't make that car anymore) but they don't have room for 5 and are useless in the rain or snow. Trust me I know (SC 5.0).

I don't see how anyone looking to spend $25K on a sporty car would not buy a WRX. (The glass box of a tranny could be a problem though). Anyways...congrats the WRX!!

I think we all knew that the WRX was going to get that award.

This is quite a nice kudo from Automobile Mag.!

They are a pretty class act in magazines, and they chose the Subaru over their perenial favorite - BMW and the new M3 for one! Also the new Ford T-Bird, Focus SVT and many others.

I think the WRX won for the breakthrough Subaru delivered in the overall package for the buck.

They described it as a true drivers car (which is why they are partial to bimmers).

We should now all subscribe in propper Suby thanks!
