New pic of my bug:
Some of the new parts going in , a perrin LCP and paranoid fab. grounding kit are also going in. OBX catback Tsudo UEL headers and cat delete (using the stock cat) DIY "ganzflow" accord intake. I'm not using that filter. I can't wait to have a huge install day and put it all on.

2002 Bugeye
3" TBE Catless up-pipe HKS cold air intake I purchased a used AP v1, i use the OTS stage 2 - 93 octane map. I looked into getting an eTune by clark turner and/or protune at IAG performance, both tuners said cobb doesn't support v1 and its untunable. How did they tune it back when? Anyway, can't i just get the map from another bugeye with the same bolt-on mods? I am looking for a custom map tuned to our setup (AP v1) thanks! |

Stay away from Clark Turner. I don't see why IAG said they can't use a V1 to tune. Did they give nay details? I know Jorge heavily prefers the ability to upload live maps, which is why he advertises Cobb tunes and not OS tunes even though he does both.

I would think it would mean fewer AP users, because people who have APv1s would more likely convert to OS than spend that money again on a newer AP. Companies that remove features from a product to discontinue support generally lose business, not gain it.

In addition generally companies will update to new technologies so tuning companies are more likely to have newer setups anyways. AP1 is quite old now, AP 2 will prolly be old here in the next year. It is likely that AP1 is being dismantled to make way for a AP3 or something. Last edited by CWLTT; 01-12-2012 at 02:46 PM. |

Out of sheer curiosity I decided to try out an 04/05 WRX scoop on the bugeye. I figured the scoop height is not incredibly dissimiliar from the STi Bugeye scoop, and wouldn't look as horrific as the 04/05 STi scoop on the Bugeye.
If I decide to keep this thing on there, a little more modification will be needed for a perfect fit. Still trying to make up my mind, thoughts? |

^ Not bad! personally I've never thought that the 04 regular WRX scoop looks bad on the bugeye (when it is made to fit properly/without gaps) just the giant 04 STI scoop like you said. I still prefer the classic looking stock bugeye WRX scoop / bugeye STI scoop...
^^ Agreed! Last edited by silverF4turbo; 01-12-2012 at 05:24 PM. |

Does the 04/05 wrx scoop fit the bugeye or do you need a replica like the sti one?
