Default Is there a difference from 02 front brake setup to 03?

I'm about to purchase a 02 front brake setup from a member here but we aren't positively sure that it will fit my 03. They are basically the same model but just want to make sure if it's a direct bolt on.

He's selling me:
1.) 2 piece racing brake rotors
2.) 2002 WRX front calipers (no brackets)
3.) '02 WRX Hawk HT10 competition pads
4.) Goodridge Stainless braided front lines

It should be a direct bolt on, as long as you have those brackets.

Somewhere in the 02-03 models, they did make some changes to the calipers and pads, but as long as you are getting the set together, they will be fine.

^^Im not sure but I want to say the production month that they changed was DEC.

That the only problem you would really run into is getting the wrong pads as one has an extra tab on it.

But as stated above it everything is coming together I dont see a problem.

The pads for the 02 and the 03 are different. This is because Subaru changed the bracket that holds the caliper slightly. So everything will be a direct bolt on for you, however you will still need 03 - 05 front pads, unless you change to the 02 bracket that holds the caliper.

FWIW, the production month is only relevant for the rear pads (they changed the brackets back there mid-production). All of the 03 WRX's have different front pads than the 02's.

Good luck with your project.

Well, my WRX isn't so much going to be my project. One of my driver side caliper piston froze up on me and wore out the pads unevenly. I need a replacement and this one was quoted at a fair price to me as a used unit. I'm guessing I need the 02 caliper brackets then?
