IIRC, people were upset that they could not find these tires for the stock wheels. If this is old news, please disregard. Here is the link:

I don't know why tirerack isn't carrying the 205/55/16 or the 225/50/16. They used to, that's where I got my 225/50/16.

Great wet/dry tire BTW, it's also proving to be rather good in the treadware dept (for a hi-po tire anyways).

Good find.

I'd take that listing with a grain of salt considering that Pirelli themselves deny existance of such a size.

I've noticed a few errors on 1010tires.

They show having a Nero M&S in 225/55/16 which is wrong.
They also show a Ecsta Supra 712 in 225/50/17 which doesn't exist either.

Different tire- your looking at the M&S allseason one, the summer tire is here:

http://www.us.pirelli.com/en_US/tyre...productid=8263

BUT they no longer list the 225/50/16, the list the 205/55/16 still. They may have discontinued it, fo what reason (not selling enough in that size?) I don't know.

I can assure you that they did exist (and may still be some in stock around the country) as I have them on my car right now- purchased form Tire Rack last year.

Click on the link in the original post. He is also talking about the M&S all-season ones.

They are listing a ton of sizes there that don't exist according to Pirelli.

You have them in 205/55 16?

If so, why aren't they listed on the site.

Also, this is in the description of the tire on tirerack.

They are W-speed rated and are available in popular 50- through 35-series Euro-metric sizes to fit 16" through 19" diameter wheels.

I don't recall it ever being in stock at tirerack. I check out the tire offerings every other week or so to see if anything new shows up (and right now to check out to see if there are any new reviews on the Kumho ASX) and I've never seen the Pirelli Nero M&S. After all the hype I heard about this tire on here, I was keeping an eye out for it.

That's why I investigated it further awhile ago and ran across what it said in the description of the tire on Tirerack (50 - 35 series, no 55) as well as what Pirelli lists on their site for the avaliable sizes of the tire (245/50 16 is the only 16 inch they claim to have, tirerack has those in stock).

I'm just trying to track down if these tires actually exist or not. I'm going to be buying new tires around June most likely and would love it if I had another tire to consider in the UHP AS segment. Until now I've given up on this tire as every sign I've seen points to it not existing in the size that I would need.

I just fired off an email to 1010tires to try to confirm the avaliablity of the Nero M&S in 205/55 16. Somehow I'm expecting to get an "out of stock" response from them too.

Woops - I automatically assume the Nero summer tire- now Luke says they don't even make it anymore. Too bad- good tire.

Luke,

Does that mean your results in your testing section are now out of date? Or do the M+S ones perform identically?

no they are not out of date because the P-Zero Nero is still available in alot of other sizes .... and the M&S version does not perform as well

The 225/50/16 is still available form Pirelli (worldwide site updated last week), evidently Pirelli USA elects not to carry this obscure size, instead carrying the ever popular 275/30/20

Maybe Luke (or tirerack) has some pull w/ Pirelli USA and can convince them that 225/50/16's will sell as well 275/3020's!
