99.5 mm is stock bore. Rings will usually come with piston set.

Yup, http://www.rallysportdirect.com/shop...-bore-8-2-1-cr

I'm sure someone will chime in with other options, and things you might end up doing.

Maybe you could start a build thread. You could even use it like a log about where you are and what decisions you're making about your car as they happen.

Are you building your engine or are you working with a shop / engine builder? If you are brand new to this I'd consider working with an experienced builder who can help you purchase compatible parts that will work well with each other.

Model year:2011 STi
Build date: 10/10
Purchase date: Feb 14th 2014
Failure date: first engine bearing went @ 31k in march, new engine went beginning of December
Mileage at failure: 4k on brand new factory long block
ECU recall performed? Not sure didn't think I need it.
Was car modified? (If so, list mods)
The car was bought with these on it and was assured it still had the factory warranty (even with these parts) and I got a 2 year extended warranty also.
AEM Cold air intake, HKS SSQV BOV(switched to full recirculation adapter after the first engine went) and Nameless Performance axle back muffler delete exhaust.
I have excepted that now matter what AEM tells me about there intake not causing map scaling issues, Uncle Scotty is right(don't put an intake on your car without a tune. Just dont!). I have now purchased the factory air box and intake duct parts and factory "by-pass valve". The car will leave the dealership in as close to stock form as I can get it. Basically if you want the warranty keep it stock, or pay to play. It really is rolling the dice, you might get that one (or two or three)engine that can take 400hp from the factory. But probably not. First engine warranty denied, new engine and turbo and cluth $13k. This time full warranty no deductible! I finally got the love!

Model Year:2011 wrx
Build date: 10/10
Purchased Date: May 22nd 2011 Purchased Certified New from Sewell Subaru with 8k miles on the clock.
Failure date: Late October 2011
Miles at failure:16,000
ECU recall: No clue.
Was the car modified? No none stock.

Car started to sputter and consume large amounts of oil and eventally had power loss.
Subaru dealership tried to deny my warranty claim. Called subaru of america and they approved the replacement engine.
My replacement short block came in on a monday that same day the car was ready.
After pick up the car there were leaks everywhere , I went and over looked the engine after i drove the car back to the dealer ship and in the techs face i pointed out all his mistakes, left the turbo oil return line half way installed , missing bolts from engine bay, intercooler was half assed put on , intake was not even bolted down, the passanger side valvecover had soo much silicone or some type of gasket maker residue on it i demanded he clean it off, and my splash gaurd had accumilated about 3 yard bags of leaves considering they lefr my car outside under a tree with the hood open for days. After i cleared up this night mare i said F-it and consulted my local tuner and asked how can i make this engine last. He smiled and gave me the most interesting grin i had ever seen and his words ? E85....
So did a normal break in of 1k miles , immediately switched to Liquid Molly 5-40 installed
1000cc Dw injectors,
Dw65 fuel pump
Upgraded my inlet to a Perrin
Invidia Catless Downpipe with o2 bung
Full tsudo3in catback
AEM Intake
Grimspeed 3port
And tuned on E85 the car made 338hp with 375Tq at 22 psi.
Been E85 ever since and the car runs just as strong as the day he tuned it.

Current mileage: 69,989
Daily driven
I drive it like i stole it.
How ever i maintain it meticulaously .
Oil changes done at 2500.
Plugs i tend to do them at 25k
Full warm ups and cool downs after running it hard.
Also just recently did the Air pump deletes not fun at all...
