Looks great Ben. I'd rather see 18's on there as I think 18's look better on the 08+ WRX, but the BBS's are classic.
Who couldn't like them? And gold is the only way to go. Good choice.

Curious of your brake plans especially cosidering your 16" steelies for winter.

And I wouldn't put anything wider than those 235 star specs on those BBS's. They look like they're already bulging.

Yeah the Star Spec's on there now are already pretty wide for the wheel.

As for brakes I had considered getting 18's and keeping the stock wheels for winter but now I'm not sure. Probably stick with stock brakes for now. If I do upgrade brakes I'd probably have to buy new summer wheels and use the BBS wheels in the winter.

You know going scoopless, being a GR on old GD BBS's, and running meaty tires are all okay on there own, but for some reason together they are just tits.

The sum of the parts is greater than their individual value, man.

Hello, nice WRX
quick question, what are the tire specs on those BBS wheels?

Cheers, Ben.

Wow. Those wheels changed the whole look in my opinion. Very nice. Also kudos to the photos. The color of the setting sun empowers the BBSs.

I'm curious what made you choose the 20-xt turbo? I'm looking for a VF52 replacement and learning there are no viable options for my 330-350 whp goal but with e85 you had so many options! Oh, what exhaust housing size did you go with?

Haha. Thanks! I do think all the parts go together well.

They are 235/45R17 Dunlop Direzza Star Spec's. I am running 25mm spacers and BC Racing Inverted Coilovers. Rear fenders are rolled.

Thanks. I agree they really changed the look. The golden hour is always the best time for photos!

On E85 the stock turbo can easily make your power goals But I was looking at something 20G sized (even maybe 30R-size...), and then this nearly new 20G-XTR came up for sale locally so I jumped on it. Billet wheel/ball bearing is nice too...

But if you're on pump gas, I don't see what's wrong with the 20G-XTR? It should make more than enough power for your goals and it still spools decently well. Although there may be cheaper turbo's that can get to 350WHP on pump gas...

A local tint installer use red film and custom cut it. Looks pretty good in person, but it's not completely flawless.

Looks great from further than 5 feet, and looks great in photos, so I'm OK with it.

Can you actually tell a difference with the lighter BBS wheels? I would think so but not sure on a 3200lb car.

Yeah, except for the tires. I went over some loose gravel with them, and it gets loose in the back end real easy!

They're 25-30% lighter than the stock wheels. Any change in unsprung mass is definitely a good thing. I don't know whether or not the wheels can be credited, but the car sure does feel fast!

I can think of a few reasons why your car might feel fast. LOL

1. 25-30% lighter wheels (forged vs. cast)
2. Same size tires (235/45R17)
3. MUCH stickier tires (Star Spec's vs. Stockers)

I agree the stock wheels look better but I think the benefits of the BBS are worth it.

So far they're really grippy. I have doubts about how long they'll last though. I guess that is too be expected with such a soft/grippy tire.

My friend's star specs lasted about 8k miles with 100% highway commuting to work. And he's a pretty conservative driver. I'm considering the tire anyway, will be watching to see how yours fare.
