you know it's funny.. i saw a new impreza sedan today, and for the first time in a while i decided i'm stoked to see what they do for the new STi.. and for the first time, i'm looking forward to the sedan. NOT the hatch.

Okay, you got me there. I should say modding a car will not hurt the car if done correctly, no matter what mileage it is done at. My point was simply that mods do not damage a car, when done correctly, driving the car hard does.

I would seriously read a little less forum talk though. You cannot make a truly educated decision off of what you read online. This is a great forum but there is a lot of ill advice going around on here. If you want to know the real deal on modding talk to a very experienced performance shop and ask them. Many of them will tell you to tune the 2011-12 the day you get it. Now if you break the car in properly it will not matter because you should not be into much boost at WOT. Meaning the stock tunes issues are less important.

I have been racing cars for well over a decade. My TA makes 400+ WHP and has seen more time on the track than most cars ever will. Reliable as can be modded to all hell. Why, because I also maintain the car. Fluid changes with quality oils, inspections and general common sense goes a long way.

Cheers to modding!

I just saw a PBP hatch in person for the first time the other day. I gotta say that all the great pics on this thread, which already had me salivating, do not do it justice. Such a beautiful color! Much deeper, richer, glossier in person. Gotta have one...

Anyone have red overlays on their hatch tails? If so please post up pics. I'm contemplating this.

If debt is your problem, don't go STi! The WRX still has a ton to offer in non-track scenarios. It's surprising me with how enjoyable/well equipped it is on everyday roads

Yeah I've gone back and forth on it quite a bit. Bottom line for me is that an STi means an extra 3 months of savings/debt reduction, which is easily worth it to get the car I really want. Also, I really look at it as a steal over the CTS-V I was planning to buy next year until I drove my first Subaru a couple months ago.
