Count me in. I live in Snellville. The R-X in AL and TN are just too far for a day trip and I don't want to spend the night so I have not R-X yet but wold love to.

Awesome... I'm not sure exactly what the hold up is right now, but I hope to have more info for everyone soon. I'm trying to meet with a guy this week about buying or leasing his offroad park. He's moving and has closed the gates. If I can get that deal worked out, we'll have a location with everything we need. It has bathrooms, showers, a shop, power, water, plenty of parking, rv hookups, etc.

I've talked to a lot of people that seam interested. I hope they all actually show up! My primitive racing skid plates, harness bar, harness, and seat base for my omp seat should show up on my front porch any minute now. I'm trying my hardest to get the process sped up as much as possible... I'm ready to play in the dirt!

Hopefully once I get my Legacy's engine back in and running, I can start looking for a beater.I was looking for one but the new motor in the Legacy moved to the top of the TO-DO list. do we even need an organized event and location? if someone knows of an empty field or private dirt roads we can go experiment on, that'll be good enough! :-)

I am still searching for a location. That is absolutely the only hold up. Sorry I haven't been giving updates. If you know anyone with a 5+ acre field within a couple hours of Atlanta, give them a shout and sweet talk them. Let them know that they are protected legally from any lawsuits by the SCCA and that we are willing to compensate for the use of their land. If you can their contact info, I'll call them to discuss details.

Find some land we can use and I'll make it happen.

Well, it's been a while, but I still haven't given up. I'm going to meet the owner of South Creek Mud Bog in Milledgeville on Saturday along with the Middle GA SCCA RE. He sounds like he's ready to accommodate us, he just wants us to see the land and meet in person to make sure we can work it out. The is the closest we've been to securing a location so far, so everybody keep your fingers crossed.

Great! Good job on all this. Let us know what the land looks like. I'm guessing it just needs to be smooth and flat? Does it matter if its dirt, sand, clay, etc?

Almost any surface will work. It's best if it's fairly smooth. Almost any decent sized field will work.

Well, we finally just secured a location in the Middle GA Region. The place is going to be awesome! The owner is asking for a $10 gate fee per person, which we think is reasonable. Since we will not have to pay a portion of what we bring in to lease the land, we will likely be knocking the entry price down a bit to compensate. The location is South Creek Mud Bog in Milledgeville, GA if you want to look it up.

We are taking a few months off from our autocross program (June, July, and August), so we are planning to have our first event one of those months.

We also have a potential location for the Atlanta Region, but not 100% on it yet. If we can work out that location, we are talking about maybe having 4-6 events for each region and alternating between locations.

If you guys want this program to succeed we need as many people as possible to show up for our first event, so get your cars prepped and tell your friends! I will be giving updates as soon as we work out the schedule with the ATL, Alabama, and Tennessee rallycross programs (we are depending on their help to get this going, so we have to work around their schedules).

It just depends on how extreme you want to go. Best bet us to read the info at the link you posted. The rule book is actually very short and simple compared to autocross. The classes are pretty straight forward and listed in the rule book.

Cool, thanks. Really, I just want to go try my car out on some loose surface. I'm wary of causing any damage so I'll be taking it easy and obviously not trying to compete or anything.

Anyway, count me in!

Awesome! It's all about having fun and learning what you/your car can do. It doesn't matter if you're the slowest car there, as long as you're having fun. The land owner offered a tractor, so if the ruts get too bad we can fix them during lunch. There is also enough open area to adjust the course if it starts getting too rough.
