Cool Back from rallispec

Yow, what a cool place. Tiny tiny little garage, stuffed with: 5 cat-back exhausts under construction all over the floor; 1 blown up Celica GT all-trac rally car; 1 blown up doge colt hatch about to get a 220hp turbo motor; one COMPLETE STi Ver. V engine with tranny, half shafts, fuse boxes and wiring. Not even enough head room for a lift; lots of jacks. I grabbed a Whiteline 18-22mm swaybar for the Outback and had Andy put it on. He was a hoot. recognized the sound of a Phase I engine without snorkus. Got under the OB and exclaimed, "Hey, mud! I bet this car is so happy. 'I got a GOOD owner, not a soccer mom!'"
NEway, I had a good time, and then went to SOA HQ. More Soobs than I've ever seen in one parking lot.

I love the new bar. I tried it out on rain slick ramps all the way home. The tail just whispers it is awake now, for the first time since I have had the car (I left with the bar set to 20mm). I'll wait on 22m until I get a little track time in on the 20. Lots less body roll, too.

FWIW, they are going to try and install AGX struts on a '00 Legacy this month, so those who are looking for suspension option might to well to get in touch with them.

Those guys are truly hardcore, no doubt. Hell of a nice couple of guys as well. They should have another open house video/get-together again( not that they have the time )

Hi Lucien, Hi Matt! I met Andy (hehe, and Matt) at the 22B meet last December at MPT; nice guy. Lucien, how long was the drive up there from Bal'mer?

..Mike Smith . 00 GT wagon (and former 91 Legacy L owner w/IACV problem -- thanks, Matt!)

Thumbs up

lucien -

Which year outback do you have again? I just ordered the 20mm Whiteline bar for my 2000 GT Wagon, I am hoping 20mm is not too much, but everyone says it is "the right size" for my wagon...

Yeah... they were good to deal with! I hope I get my bar today or tomorrow, I need to break it in at a RallyX this weekend...

A

Edit- Mike: How do you like my wagon's twin? I've only seen one other GT Wagon in TGreenPearl, feels pretty exclusive...

Hi Andy, it's great! You're right, I've only seen one other in the Washington, DC area. I just love the richness of the green. Back in Nov 99, I showed my wife the pictures of yours and that helped me convince her (it's her car) to go with TGreen Pearl over Black Granite Pearl. We also exchanged email about the crossbars; you were an early introduction into the friendliness of the Subaru family. Thanks again.

..Mike

It is a '99 Legacy Outback. 20mm feels quite nice, just about perfect. I suppose I will wait till I have had more training before messing with 22.

Hi mike! (heading back to edmunds....)
