Any chance this thing would be smog-able in CA? I wonder if it would be a pita...also I might have missed but are the axles STI also? so 5x114.3 wheels?

I don't know how the California laws impact swapped vehicles, so I'm no help there.
Sorry, no trades considered. The whole point of selling is to have one less car and a pocket full of cash. Btw, the car is pending sale locally... I'll update the thread later today. |

Just out of curiosity what kinds of insurance quotes are you guys getting on STI vs WRX?
I only got quoted $100 difference every 6 months... It seems to me like if you can afford to buy an STI you shouldn't have a problem paying for the insurance.. Just my thoughts. Has anyone else gotten huge price differences in their quotes? |

This is a for sale thread... not a place for discussion of insurance rates. Having said that, the vin # on this car tells the insurance company its an RS making my insurance about half what it would have been for an oem STI; a savings of $1500 per year.

This car looks like a piece of artwork. Simply amazing. If it was a little cheaper (which I do not expect a car like this to be) I'd run to Oregon right now.
does the steering wheel work!!?? |

I understand the point you are making... the bank will loan less on this car than on an oem STI which would require the buyer to come up with more cash and possibly make the purchase impossible for him. On the other hand, an oem STI in exactly the same condition would likely be priced 5k to 6k higher, so even if the bank agreed to finance another 5k or 6k the buyer would be required to come up with the same amount of cash. While it seems a shame that the result is that a NASIOC member with less access to cash would be obligated to buy a hashed out high miles STI for the same price simply because the bank would run the vin# and offer to loan more money for it, it is what it is. The bottom line is that I'm not desperate and believe that the person who is meant to be the next owner and caretaker of this car will find it and have the where-with-all to purchase it.
