I don't have personal experience running it, since all of my cars use Extra-S but I can tell you that this might work for a few hundred / thousand miles BUT I have had many customers come in complaining of noise and grinding when shifting after running this cocktail.
When I drain it, it looks like someone murdered a smurf and it comes out in chunks of goopy blue-green crap. After putting Extra-S or Motul back in, running for a few hundred miles, and changing it again with Extra-S or Motul, the transmissions is back to "normal". Based on that, I wouldn't recommend this cocktail to anyone. Also, I have met Uncle Scotty in person before. He's 110% douche. Tried to start a few fights at our meet. He would just walk up to people he didn't know and start talking trash about their car. He is no longer welcome to our meets.

Well I have a ppg straight cut 1-4. Started running into synchro issues going into 4th. I have been running adrewtechs mix. Which has worked well for me, but now I am considering going back to Subaru extra-s. I read online that Subaru doesn't offer this oil anymore, is this true? And its only available at the dealership right? I feel that the synchro may need to be replaced, if not then its the broken down gear oil causing the issue, wanted to try a fluid change first. Thanks for the help. |

almost everybody had 'issues' before they put 'the coktail' in it......and/or they used the wrong products because they are stupid and there is no reason that anything used in the mix should have ANY deliterious effects on anything in the transmission...so your claims are dubious at best there are thousands and thousands of happy users all over the world who use this with great reults......there must be a reason that some have poor results....the trans was all done when they put it in or they used the wrong thing...or they left it in too long and had the same results they woulda had if they left any other lube in the trans too long and the v3 cocktail uses the HEAVYWEIGHT shockproof which isnt as prone to degrade as the lightweight...so it isnt blue, either |

Key word, "may." I'm not sold either way, yet. Can an expert weigh-in, please? I just ran with the wrx power pack from redline after considering the cocktail formula for quite some time, but eventually went with the redline assuming a performance oil company has more resources to test, etc.

and many who have followed their 'advice' on fluids have regretted it.....for almost 10 years now now...i have tried MANY different lubes in my cars and others who i know personally and who have posted here..... and much of it is in this thread ALREADY.....so im not gonna do your homework for ya but...anyway...dont use the lightweight shockproof...it wears out...way too quickly....my best lesson learned from the v1 cocktail i wont publish the v4 cocktail, and dont ask unless we've met and i know you. |

Allow me to paraphrase:
"On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being not so extreme and 10 being extremely-extreme, I give this a 9.fiiiive!!" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=os-hesdDVB4#t=0m12s Your cocktail may be great, but how good is a drink when the bartender is a ________________? |

in his position i would have personally sold the recipe to a particular shop to sell as their in-house magic gearbox fluid that nobody ever knows the recipe for and made a fortune off of it. just think about how many $thousands this has saved in gearbox rebuilds over the years, and therefore how many $thousands it could have made in profit. but he didn't. think about that for a second. Quick question for you Scotty, I got sold some penzoil 80w 90 instead of castrol and told it was the same. Is it gonna work or should I go exchange it? I know he had a bit of trouble finding the castrol which is why he gave me the penzoil. Ice read through a bunch of this thread so I'm not being a lazy **** but I wanna be koo when I do my trans swap next weekend and this is the way to do it.
