Default J/C torque Chip II - Review

well, after a local performance shop told me that they wont install this "thing" cause it looks like some one made it in their garage, and it'll most likely burn my ECU up, i've done it my self.

Install was a pice of cake, took me 30 min cause i was extra carefull, now i can install one in under 10 min.

+'s :
Right after ECU reset i could tell the difference. Performance has improved, before i could feel a power push at ~4000 PRM, now it's at 2200. 5th gear no longer sucks till after 3500 rpm, it's a lot more responcive at 2000 basically. i gave a friend a ride (he's been in a car lots of times at 100mph+) and after just a couple of seconds he told me that the car felt quiet a bit faster. Reverse is a lot easier to be in now, and smoother.

-'s:

For the first coupla days the stupid thing was beeping at random times... If you stall the car it'll act all weird for 5-10 min, smooth idle is a mith, idles just as good (bad) as before.

Doesn't the ECU on the 2000+ RS learn around the chip? I know a lot of people don't use an AFC and other things cause the ECU will learn around them.

i think the chips actually disable the ecu learning around any electronic mods...

fabulous12 is correct about the learning.

Also, the chip doesn't beep. Sorry, but we'll need to adjust your dose of Haldol now

I've been telling people for a year, since I got my chip installed, how great it is, but the skeptics just wanna bash the lack of a dyno curve.

I loved it so much I now sell them (and the ProECM powerchip which is similar).

hey, i never said the chip dont work, in fact i bought one.... (maybe not from you, but i did buy one (100$ )) cause i am a believer.

Now that, what's that ProECM powerchip you're talking about?

Is it better then TC II? or is it the same thing with different name?

Different product, different software and hardware, end result is the same, but the ProECM has an adjustable voltage MAP sensor voltage clamp and crmip style spade connectors to make easier to install and remove.
