Default it looks like it really will suck

I'm a longtime Nissan/Datsun guy, having had a '71 510, '72 240, '77 280, and my current '96 240. With all the new GTR rumors swirling I've been excited, I've read all the magazine tests, I've watched the videos on youtube and thought maybe this would be able to live up to the skyline "legend" then I saw this... it's HUGE

The R34 Skyline is probably still my favorite car of all time. It doesn't look like the GTR will live up to the Skyline legend, but then again I'm willing to wait to drive one.

Yes - it is huge.

But then weren't the GTR's a bit big to begin with ? The '99 R34 wasn't exactly a lightweight at 3672 lbs. , and this one is supposed to come in at roughly 3900 lbs. (from what I've read.)

It's roughly 200lbs. heavier, but makes a lot more power, has an amazing transmission / AWD system, and looks killer IMHO.

I'd take it in a heartbeat, and I'm willing to bet that it destroys all previous GT-R iterations...

Selling that car is one of the biggest regrets I have. L20 with dual SU's, dogleg 5 speed, Koni's, Libra wheels, and light olive green with blacked out trim. I'm smart S M R T!

It's not the weight that gets me as much as just the sheer size. It makes the R34 look tiny and that is a pretty good sized car to begin with.

Big is good on the track, you can block any potential passers!

Of course for autocross, it will suck a big one.

But it does look sweet.

Thats not surprising. Like someone said above GTR's have always been heavy/big for their times. For a 3.3 sec to 60mph car, that power has to fit somewhere.
