Default Installed Killer B Oil Pickup tube today... Thank god!

Well after reading up on the issues people have had with the factory oil pickup tubes breaking and causing the instant loss of oil pressure leading to blowing up the engine, I ordered my Killer B motorsports pickup tube. I finally got around to installing it today, I was overdue for an oil change, so I took that opportunity to install the pickup tube.

First off, it wasn't too bad of an install. Very tight to get to the rear four bolts, but manageable with a swivel, and jacking the engine up to get more room.

Next... I just saved my STI from certain death... My STI has 45k on it, and the pickup tube was on its last leg. There is a hairline fracture that was about to break any time. I had no sign of it being damaged like this, I just happened to come across the issue, and decided to make sure it didn't happen to me.... And I lucked the **** out...

Also, I used ihadmail's DIY for pulling the pan... Many thanks to ihadmail... But you did more work than you had to. I did mine without pulling the exhaust, subframe, or swaybar. I just dropped the plastic engine pan, took off the jack plate, loosened the motor mounts and I did jack up the engine as stated in the DIY, but the pan can be maneuvered out without removing all the excess parts.

Ihadmail's DIY:

I personally would recommend this to anybody with the EJ25 motor... 45k and my motor woulda been toast if I hadn't done this mod!

Anyways, here are the pics. Notice the crack on the tube.
