I can do it too.
You guys should do the clown shoes drop. It's an easy 12-14 feet if you're moving fast

super easy to install, and great choice in brakes. I kinda which I had some codes. I really liked my old code 5, and these elixir cr keep giving me problems. I called Avid today and left a message, hopefully they will get back to me tomorrow.

They should be pretty easy to bolt on, then if you need a hand setting them up/bleeding them have someone give you a hand.

Don't forget to lube up the rotors with the brake fluid and get them soaked up in the pads JK. Did you end up getting them in?

My brakes after a wash makes a lot of noise and it's freakin loud. Do I really have to soak the pads with brake fluid to make it go smoother so it won't make noise?

I hope you're joking man. Never put brake fluid on your rotors or pads, you WONT stop. Think about putting brake fluid on your car's rotors and pads, what do you think would happen? Same thing as your bike.

I rode both sunday and monday, sticking mostly to the Garbanzo lift. Lots of Freight Train and a-line, with a dash of Crank it up on the lower half to cool down. The riding was stellar. Too bad my hands are ****ed. Racing with a bunch of 20 year olds left my hands with blisters on top of blisters. Quote:
My Hayes were so hot yesterday that they started to make "wawa" noises as I slowed down. That's not good I don't think... |

Before I forget, the new DHX5.0 on the rear is an amazing upgrade.
When I went last time, I found that I was braking for a lot more of the sketchy rocks, whereas with the 5.0 I was able to keep my speed without getting bucked off. Also, in the rocky, rooty section of lower a-line, I was able to simply wiggle the bike through, carrying a lot of speed through that section. The best part though, was when I finally tuned the setup properly for the jumps and drops. The bike is a completely different beast now, and I like it. edit: hahahaha! I was riding a-line, and had just popped one of it's massive tables, when a mountain wasp flew into my helmet, bounced off my eyelid, and sat on my cheek for a moment until I brushed him off. Just before I set him free, the little ****er bit me just below the right eye. So there I am, flying through the air, looking like a side of beef riding a bike, while being attacked by the local wildlife. The funny thing is, I get down to the lift and ask my brother if he notices it. He looks at me and goes "eeeow, what the hell happened to you!??!". Thanks to adrenaline, I didn't feel a thing. hey guys, i need some suggestions from you guys. http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/bik/1289682263.html is this a good price? i'm trying to buy a decent downhill bike and my last bike was a iron horse maverick from sportchek... that bike felt like it was going to fall apart after riding it down sfu mountain.

I saw a 2006 Norco six on craigs which is the same bike I have for $700 obo.. I think it was 3500 in the stores four years ago. so I would say it's over priced for the year.

triplexcel, unless you're a big dude, I would stay away from the large frame.
I'm 5'11", 185lbs, and I ride a small/medium frame. Back in the day we used to buy larger frames, but found over the years that when you're really pushing, the large frame is too heavy and big to maneuver. The bike itself is a nice ride, and if you can find one smaller, I'd go for it. |

The small rear wheel isn't as fast or smooth over rough terrain as a full-sized one. That and it's a lot harder to find good/well-priced tires in 24". Many Manitou sliders turn out to be maintenance intensive. I've seen one lose fluids, then damping then going stiff, all in the same afternoon. Even the Manitou techs couldn't keep the thing running smoothly for more than a day and a half... -Tim |

well i am 6'2 205lbs.. so i 'guess' it would be ideal for me.. but yeah i rode the 21" iron horse i did find it a little hard to move around in tight turns and stuff. it was also heavy as hell.
