Edit: ran out of stock this morning. Shooter's World Peoria had HPR reloads @ $25/50 when I went there yesterday.

Was thinking of something...you know there are people that recently bought guns at normal prices, with the intention of selling them for a profit on craigslist and stuff. Is there an amount at which someone would have to get a dealer's license to do this? Is there a limit?

Technically if you buy a gun specifically to sell it for a profit then you could get in trouble.

So, I haven't been to SGC in a while, but I got some gift cards from them so I went in yesterday (Got an Aimpoint PRO!). Since when are the salesmen there dicks? I planned on having to wait a while to get someone's attention because they were packed tighter than Richard Gere's ******* the day after a pet sale, but, while waiting, I saw so much of a lack of helpfulness going on with pretty much everyone who was working there. The only nice person I saw was a girl who didn't seem to know anything about guns, but was still trying to be helpful. Even the guy who sold me the optic was a dick about it. They used to be much better.

I bet it was just a long holiday for them. Then the current run on guns and ammo. And having a lot of tire kickers to deal with.
I've always had good service there.

It's been a while since I've owned or shot, but a friend and I decided to go grab a couple. Got a g19. Anyway,.it seems the ranges are pretty packed, as each time I've called or been close and stopped in..usually 1:30-2 hour wait. I remember going out to the desert when I was younger to shoot with family/friends, but looking around I don't see anywhere near me where it's permitted. Anyone know of anywhere near the east valley or queen creek that's easier/quicker. I've checked the blm page, but it's all pretty vague.

Try lower sycamore for long range and four peaks for shorter. Thats all i know of thats not prohibitted. Mcso stopped by when i was out there last, they suggested leave no trace. Pick up trash keeps it open..Otherwise little affghanistan is an option off of el camino vijo road back in there past queen valley but it most deffinately says prohibitted there.

Yeah, we went to the place out near queen valley/florence junction. It definitely says "target shooting prohibited, hunting allowed, permit required", but we went anyway and found a little spot on the east side of a small mountain about a quarter mile in. There were several people around the other side of the mountain doing the same thing. It was an absolute mess though, mattresses set up, shell casings EVERYWHERE, trash strewn about. We did our best to pack up out at least what we brought in, but I can see why they don't want you out there if everyone just trashes the place.

I'm curious what happens if someone actually comes out there though and catches you shooting targets? Fine?

We talked to a resident that lived a couple miles back and said he always comes out there and has never been hassled, but I still wonder what the repercussions are.

Ruger made contacting all your elected officials super easy. Takes 2 minutes and hits all your local, state, national representatives and other elected officials.

If you haven't otherwise contacted them, this is a super easy way to let them know your 2nd Amendment stance.

I like what Ruger is doing, but I don't like this "...instead, work to enforce the more than 20,000 gun laws already on the books." It seems I am giving my approval for those laws, just not NEW ones. I think the fact that we are on the defensive is the wrong stance. There are two things the recent shootings tell us:

1) We do a poor job when it comes to mental health issues.

2) We need better education about guns. Guns should not have the stigma they do. It should not shock people to see people with firearms in public. In fact, when looking at everything with the Second Amendment (especially its intent) and current events (both domestic and international) in mind, we should not be questioned about weather or not we have a gun, but be questioning law abiding citizens as to why they DON'T. If we truly do want to protect kids/innocents, then the members of the People with the desire and ability to do so need to be armed. This is only going to happen with education.

Regardless of what happens with gun laws--an AWB/stiff background checks/banning of clips of death, or if what Ruger desires happens, there will eventually be another mass shooting. And surely, it will be even more difficult and dangerous for Americans then. Both sides need to stop sweeping things under the rug. The authors of the 2nd Amendment knew, from experience, the good, bad, and ugly that came with guns, and knew that it would be impossible to maintain a free AND safe country without an armed populace. You can have free and unsafe (anarchy), or not free and safe (Police State/Authoritarian Government).

My message to the government is this: know your place. You exist to do what We, the People, tell you to do. That's it. It is not your role to tell us what is good, bad, or best. Sure, you can make suggestions and whatnot, but your job is to do what we tell you to. There is a reason that those who work in government are refered to as a public SERVANTS. If you won't do what the People tell you to do, then step down--good on you for being man enough to do so.

well that sucks last time i was out there it was clean damn o well, i usually go further in past the cattle watering hole, as far as repercussions go i have no idea, fines im sure. as of late i have been doing the legal areas out there in four peaks so there are no legality worries, just the motorists.
