Default My 1984 2Dr rde.

This is my first car and I plan to make a sweet ride out of it!!
It is a 1984 GL hatchback 2dr 4WD 4speed stick 1.8Lt 73hp 93fpt.
I need to know how to put a different motor in it?
It has a new motor in it, but it has a stock motor in it.
I want to put a wrx motor or something with more then 73hp.

Then you'd better get good at wiring and fabrication, because the swap isn't easy. Not saying it can't be done, but it's difficult. Do some research, there are guys on USMB that have done similar things. I'm not sure about EJ motors into EA81 cars, but I know there are some EJ20/EJ22 Loyales out there.

I didn't even notice that it said GL-10. GL-10's just had more options than regular GLs. Power windows, sunroof, etc., but yeah, I didn't think they made EA81 GL-10's.

Is it a hatchback or a 2dr sedan (with trunk lid?) Cause I have only seen the 2dr's (also called hardtops) as GL-10's I have never in my lift seen a GL-10 hatch.

Since its a GL-10 does it have a digidash???

Sounds to me like its just a normal old GL... got pics

Yep, the only EA81 GL-10's were the 2dr and 4dr. Although the Turbo's(84 Coupe/Wagon/Brat) had all the options of a GL-10, they were never badged as such. I have never seen or heard of a Wagon or Hatch being a GL-10.

Unhappy I was wrong!!

Its just a GL hatchback....not a GL 10....I thought it was.

By were can i find a EJ20 or EJ22 Loyales??
Are some of them about 140hp or more to put in my car??

I need some nice seats to put in too.

What size wheel would fit it??

Here is what I think would rock....

Take your hatch, put in an EJ20T or EJ22T, install a 5 lug conversion for the hubs and stuff from an XT6 (not sure if they fit EA81 vehicles... but they might... I know they fit EA82 vehicles) Then run seats from a WRX or STi or something

It would be a ton of work... the best way to get it all to work is to buy a complete wrecked car so you could get the wiring harness and stuff from it.
