Any option to get these coated before they are sent out?
Nm, I probabaly wouldn't go that route anyways, I'll just wrap them. I think I'll put an order in w/in 2 weeks or so. Last edited by LotusDrift; 12-01-2004 at 10:13 AM. |

Are the pipes from the drivers side slipped on and held to the passenger side with braces or are they welded, thus making the entire thing 1 piece? Some might be weary of expansion joints as they sometimes leak. Having those pipes fully welded where they cross over infront of the oil pan (where the buldge is in the pic) is preferred I think. My gp-moto's leak where the "slip joint" is in that similar spot and now they weld all of theirs.

notice that support brace welded inbetween the flanges...I'm pretty sure that would make slip joints impossible.
Just an observation, could be wrong. |

That support brace is not welded, its just there to keep the headers together while shipping. Obviously if it were welded like you say then it would "pass through" the oil pan. Many other vendors do the same thing and put in a support brace during shipping to prevent twisting and such to the headers.

I have been looking into manifold for my WRX. These look exactly like the ones from GT SPEC.
From my search on nasioc the GT SPEC manifold has been in the market for a while now, like 2 years. They also have dyno charts of the manifold. I have also seen the manifold in the magazines. Do you know what kind of gains you have on yours? Any dyno number? |

IMO these look like the GTSPEC GEN II. Looking more into the spec., these are GTSPEC GEN II.
I also saw that JSC SPEED has them for sale right now at $459. That's $9 more but you don't have to wait. I think that the $9 is worth it. I bought some stuff from JSC before, great bunch of guys. http://www.jscspeed.com/wrx/exhaust/gtspec_header.htm Just some information for the people that don't want to wait. |

Do other up-pipes fit on there? I am way partial to my APS uppipe.
Never mind. I see not. Last edited by ebeck; 12-28-2004 at 04:22 PM. |

SlowSTI123, the guy is trying to do business here man. I can find every part for my car in any one of 10 places any time with varying degrees of price and availability.
Don't think GTspec is JDM. That is important to some. Stop Filibustering. Most uncool. |

Have you test fitted these Rich? I'm pretty interested but my biggest gripe is fitment (specifically the uppipe part). I have a set of gt spec v2's but I hear they are a pain in regard to fitment so I turn to your headers as a solution.

Anwers to a few questions.
1) full gasket set will be included 2) The MadDad(TM) nameplate will be welded on. Due to look alike products we don't want any confusion as to which vendors product this is. 3) It's been a nutso schedule for me over the past month, but the set I have will be installed on my car shortly and we'll pass on any feedback regarding fitment and such. 4) It is a 3 bolt uppipe so you will have to use it. The uppipe is also part of the full design. It's specific diameter and velocity stack are all part of the performance equation. - Rich |

MadDad(TM) Velocity Headers - Ceramic Coatings
More updates. ETA is about this time next month. 24 days for the boat to arrive, and approx. another week to clear customs and get delivered.
Ceramic Coatings - We have chosen a partner to coat our headers and we're sending our demo set to them this week(looks like I won't be getting them installed just yet). There will be about a 2 week turnaround before we get them back. The coating will be applicatoin specific for the inside coating and outside coating. The header will go through a multi-stage process to ensure the coating is quality and will last. There are some coatings used today that are simple spray on powdercoats you can do in your own backyard that are just hung out to dry. This is not going to be one of them. The headers will go through multi-stage sandblasting and additional processes to ensure the baked on coatings are quality and will last. The inner coating will be different from the outter coating to ensure it endures the extra heat(even though the exterior coating will be rated at over 2000F). I expect the price for a coated header(and uppipe) to run approx. $225-$250 over the uncoated price. We'll have a unit to show in the forum before our full inventory arrives. Rich |

MadDad(TM) Velocity Headers - updated delivery time
Looks like we'll see our full inventory around the 11th of March. We've got the specific info on when the boat will be arriving, padding that with some time to clear customers and then ship from port to our door we think March 11th is a pretty accurate ETA.
We'll be showing a ceramic coated version end of this week that will be available as a fully warranteed option when purchasing. More details to follow. Rich |
