Got pictures of a Cobb CAI installed? (02+ design)
Hi, just want to make sure I installed everything right. The 02+ designs come with a 'T' tube that makes things slightly different from what I'm used to and I was just wondering if I hooked up everything ok.
Sooo if anybody could give some pictures of their Cobb CAI 02+ design that would be appreciated.

Ok, I'm new to Subies. Well, I don't actually have mine yet, but here's what I'm curious about: Where is the mass air flow meter? At first I thought the filter was hidden somewhere in the fender and the black filter housing was the meter.

^ that's what i htought...i thought it wasa fancy cover...because i Have a MAF...i know the newer subies don't have MAF though....i think it's called MAP sensors, or whatever.....buti know mine has one, and that's probably why i can't have cobb intake...

Ahh, ok. How do the newer cars measure the air then? Can someone tell me a little more about this MAP sensor?

The MAP is right at the far end of the pipe, just before the throttle body. That gets it the hell out of the way nicely

J/K but you should expect your MAF adaptered Cobb intake to look similar to something like this. Expect a hose to go into the fenderwell, then the Cobb air filter connected to the maf/airflow sensor, then piping going into the throttle body. The piping going into the throttle body will/should have 'ports' on it so you can connect your PCV, vacuum and other hoses (if need be) to it. MattDell, If you don't mind, could you measure the length of your air filter for me? If PRM has a different air filter housing length (which I'm sure they do from their site), your air filter size may be just the ticket for what I'm looking for. Thanks! quick question.....on MY98s....i have a big vacuum tube that comes from somewhere near the throttle body....would i just have to make a custom T adapter to make it fit with the other vent/vacuum lines ? or is there a tube coming off the intake already for this big misterious vacuum tube ?

Which vac line are you talking about? I've tried all the intake ideas on my 98, so I have a pretty good idea of how they work... |
