SUBARU torque spec typo!
After months of waiting i finally had everything gathered to get my 05 WRX back on its feet! but the joy was short lived when i was assembling the heads i stretched one of the front bearing seal cap bolts!? the manual says to torque all 6 bolts to 14.5 ft/lbs... but it turns out that they forgot to mention that the front 2 should only be torqued to 7 (thanks for proof reading Subaru). before discovering this i thought maybe it was my cheap harbor freight torque wrench, so i tried my brothers, but nope not only did i stretch the next bolt it broke leaving half inside
So tonight i will be extracting the bolt and torquing the new bolts to the correct spec! DOES ANYONE HAVE A TORQUE WRENCH THAT WILL GO AS LOW AS 7 FT/LBS I CAN BORROW? Also i would really like to bring this to the attention of someone who can fix the Subaru service manuals, im not looking to sue them or make them look bad, i just think that it needs to be fixed as, after some googling, i am not the first person to run into this problem. ANY IDEAS??

They screwed up the torque spec in the the 2005 STi manual for the front caliper bolts too. A ton of guys stripped out their calipers following that.

Go with a torque wrench that reads inch pounds. 7 foot pounds = 84 inch pounds.
